Considering there is an embargo for the game, and that they reviewed it LOWER than GT5 Prologue...

I will take this with a pinch of salt.

No, I don't think so. He rated it 14/20, so 7/10. Considering how good it looks overall, it seems too low to me. It's certainly not a 10/10, currently it's more like a 9/10 for me, but definitely not less than 8/10.

Check out the video link that Kowenicki posted. Just go to about the 11:00 mark, he basically says the same thing. He calls the track graphics "ok". Granted he's not too far into the game yet, level 16.

By the way, someone tell me WHY I am supposed to care about the following, in reference to this thread:

* Why care about what some French site has to say about a game, in a review I can't read?

* Why care about lower detail textures I won't notice while driving?

* Why care about not every car having internal car view specific to the car, when I don't drive that way?

* Why care about Metacritic scores, and final scores, which don't really tell me about what I need to know about the game?

* Why care whether or not the game is some sort of fanboy console war killer app that is supposed to make a difference in the console wars, if the game is good enough for me, and others out there?

I understand some things to care about. Others I don't. I don't get the above to care about. Is it possible Gran Turismo 5 is being made out to be more than it can ever HOPE to be? Myself, one concern I have is about the nature of the track editor. The review of the track editor had me wondering about good it is.
