Every gaming website I've tried (which isn't many because I don't want the web Nazis coming down on me) is blocked. Lots of other "entertainment" websites are blocked, but others aren't. Metacritic is blocked, but Rottwntomatoes isn't O_o

Any others with that level of web policing going on?

yep, but thats what pda net and a laptop are for.

the site was really bad for malware/virus a few years back it got flagged, and because of what the site is it wont be unflagged.... (its flagged across 8 of the 9 corporate networks i have access to)

Yea it is blocked at my school and a lot of other gaming and enternaiment web sites it sucks.

While at school last year VGC was the only Gaming site that wasn't blocked so I was so happy that I could access VGC and show friends the charts of various games and be wowed at the numbers.

For example they wowed at Halo 3's numbers and all the Wii numbers pretty much.

Sites like IGN, Gamespot, N4G were all blocked.

It's only been blocked at my work for the last week. Prior to that I could access all parts of the site, but couldn't reply in threads. No evidence of malware in the entire time I've been coming to VGC.

Anyway there are like 3 dozen web proxies like www.hidemyass.com which hide your identity. Alternatively you can get VPN set up with your home PC.

Apt metaphor there. Not just me though. Loads of entertainment oriented websites I rarely visitare blocked, but a couple of websites I visit frequently (like Rotten Tomatoes, boxoffice mojo) are blocked.

i did not get stung, but i watch and fixed people who got stung...

if i wanted to id just use a forgotten term server (been listed as decomed  for 3 years) i know all the people who still use it, but as i said pda net and a personal laptop, if anything were to happen it would not hurt any of my clients.

and as ive mentioned above its been about 2 years or more since vgc had that rash of badness

suprising number of people used vgc accross the companies ... though at this point people should not surprise me anymore....

depends on how they track you. screen recorder clients can catch that, and a good net admin will find out where youve been going even without that. its interesting sometimes the things they "overlook". be kind to your net admin they may be watching ..
