Forums - Gaming - Most annoying things in games

I want to see what are the most annoying things (or glitches) a game can have that might make you not like it as much as you would otherwise.

Ok, If there is one thing I dislike in games is invisible walls. To me they kill the whole sence of freedom a game might give you.

For example I was playing Mario Sunshine earlier today and started using the turbo nozzle and went into the ocean (I love how it looks because you can see some stages in the background). All of the sudden I hit an invisible wall. The water on the other side of the wall seems to flow normal, but you cant get through which used to really bug me(I was already familiared to this, but wanted to use it as an example).

Now, I know that happens because of a games limitations, and I can tolerate it, but it would be much cooler if they found a way to work around it.

This is actually why Mario Galaxy 2 is my all time favorite 3d Mario game. Because I have not once me with an invicible wall. Even Galaxy 1 had them (the garden)

So, what are the things that annoy you the most in a game?

sorry if long

Water levels.

I also hate any time constricting games, which is (coming to think about it) why I hate racing sims so much.

I am the black sheep     "of course I'm crazy, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong."-Robert Anton Wilson

what i hate so much is games that lead you around like an idiot.

Follow this guy, follow these small check points on an bread crumb trail.

I like for them to tell you the end point and then i will get there how i want to get there, even if its linear.

Assassins Creed Brotherhood is an offender. WHY??????????

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

massive difficulty fluctuations.

like when your playing a level thats pretty easy, then the next level is head explodingly hard, then the next level is back to pretty easy...

Things that are obiously here to make you lose your time, make the game appear to be longer than it really is. I have many example but I guess everyone can have one by reading this. (what? who said Far Cry 2 with their travelling-through-the-whole-map-from-mission-to-mission idea? =D)

i dislike easy games that seem to be playing itself for you, i also dislike generic "intel" , some games reward you with collecting stuff, and collecting them is fun , but other games don't, also the "Regen" health system and the "When your health is low the world turns into black and white"

i also dislike the generic characters that die the moment you meet them as an excuse for not having a character developer, and to enforce the "zomg this place is effed up" on you while in reality its just hilariously bad attempt.

i also dislike the poor attempts of making scenes look "epic" with random shouting, cursing and explosions, lots of games doing it nowadays, its just gets very redundent after the first time.

Games that don't have "level select" or something similar. I want to be able to revisit certain parts of a game that I liked and not have to go through everything again.

Multiplayer games with horrible level designs.

I'm looking at you Rainbow six vegas 2

This. I had to play through Assassins Creed II again to retry a certain mission for a trophy of which I failed to get the first time.

OT: This isn't a big deal, but there shouldn't be regenerative health in games besides FPS. Red Dead Redemption was wayyy too easy.

Unskippable cutscenes, animations and such, and lack of check-/savepoints. Especially in hard games where you might die a lot of times and have to suffer endless animations, cutscenes and other such stupid things when you just want to get on with it! Or having to play through a long, loooong part of game only to get to a certain hard point and die instantly, and having to do it all, again. That gets old, quickly.
