Im still laughing at gamespy taking points off for it being hard. I would hate for that reviewer to play the games on the NES. It is hard thats forsure, but that is part of what makes it such a great game.

Gamespot gave DKCR an 8.5/10, but from what I've heard, the score is little sketchy. The only thing in their "The Bad" section was "occasionally clunky controls" and there were at least five different things in "The Good" section. It seems like almost every Wii title this year that isn't SMG2 or CoD: Black Ops gets an automatic 8.5 from them for whatever reason.

Luckily, Escapist Magazine gave their highest score of 5-stars to DKCR. A good read.

Do any of these reviews that talk about the controls say what they are using? If you use just the Wii mote its no problem. However, if you use the Wii mote/Nunchuck yea probably is a bit clunky. I mean hello! since when has the analog stick been good for 2D platformers? Let alone a descently hard one. That is actually one of my gripes with Sonic Colors the 2D parts could be fun if it wasnt for being forced to use the analog stick. Would it really have been that hard to make use of the D pad on the Classic controller?
Anyways, After beating this game tonight I can say it is my GOTY and my favorite Wii game. As much as i am looking forward to Epic Mickey im pretty sure it wont take its spot. Of course I got many levels still to get the extras on so I wont be stopping anytime soon.
I hope Nintendo lets Retro make another sometime in the future.
For anyone on the fence if you like platformers it would be a sin not to snab this up. You will love it

Rumor has it Retro is working on another project while working on DKCR, but it's been a few months since I probably heard of that, so don't quote me on this.
I have absolutely no problem playing this game sideways, and I am actually enjoying the waggling. yeah, maybe a button may have been a good option for other people but I have no issue with the controls
