A remake of Deus Ex would be horrible and shouldn't be done.
If they want to update its graphics or something then thats fine, but they shouldn't touch the actual game at all...

I'm not for a remake as its hard to recapture what makes the original special and it ends up feeling like a shell of its original self... (see MGS:TWIN SNAKES) imo. I don't get where you get the idea it would automatically be horrible. though.
Theres flaws in that game. That if fixed would make the game better. And I say this, and it's my 2nd favorite game ever. they already did a remake / port and it was not that good. on ps2 remember where they made some areas smaller.
the whole thing he said was wanting to build the series from the new game anyways.

I'm skeptical that the current developers could pull off a proper deus ex game thats all and as you said the port to the ps2 wasn't that great either so the track record isn't that good for the series.

The problem with it... was the ps2 didn't have ram, nothing could really be done... porting it was a bad idea. I don't think anything could really be done to transfer it well. And anyways that was done by ion storm not this Eidos Dev, so that has no indication on the quality this eidos dev is capable of.
Well did you like the sequal Invisible War?
the original creators did the panned sequal (panned by fans not critics), (Warren Spector, ANd Harvey Smith)
Which I loved even if it was inferior in everyway to the original. that was with the original creators...
So obviously the original creator doesn't have a track record with the fans either.
All of the information and trailers and interviews with the directors of things are more in line with the orignal game than the IW or any other game (But still, talk is talk). I'm not certain it's going to be amazing either. I'm just hoping its better than invisible war (which is still in my top 20 favorite games)... if its not, no big deal. I'll play epic mickey :P
Who would you want to develop it?
