Forums - Gaming - 'Enough room' to build new DEUS EX series, says dev..

never played the orginal games but i have heard about it and sounds really fun. I be sure to check it out once released and maybe get into it.

I like how you choose your character customisation and all have an purpose in all missions and that there are many play styles

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

I'm a Deus Ex fan, but I'm not a prequel fan... Let's just hope these Deus Ex prequels don't suffer from "Pedantic Prequel Disease" like the Star Wars series' prequel movies.

A remake of Deus Ex would be horrible and shouldn't be done.

If they want to update its graphics or something then thats fine, but they shouldn't touch the actual game at all...

I'm not for a remake as its hard to recapture what makes the original special and it ends up feeling like a shell of its original self... (see MGS:TWIN SNAKES) imo. I don't get where you get the idea it would automatically be horrible. though.

Theres flaws in that game. That if fixed would make the game better. And I say this, and it's my 2nd favorite game ever.
they already did a remake / port and it was not that good. on ps2 remember where they made some areas smaller.

the whole thing he said was wanting to build the series from the new game anyways.

I'm skeptical that the current developers could pull off a proper deus ex game thats all and as you said the port to the ps2 wasn't that great either so the track record isn't that good for the series.

The problem with it... was the ps2 didn't have ram, nothing could really be done... porting it was a bad idea. I don't think anything could really be done to transfer it well. And anyways that was done by ion storm not this Eidos Dev, so that has no indication on the quality this eidos dev is capable of.

Well did you like the sequal Invisible War?

the original creators did the panned sequal (panned by fans not critics), (Warren Spector, ANd Harvey Smith)

Which I loved even if it was inferior in everyway to the original. that was with the original creators...
So obviously the original creator doesn't have a track record with the fans either.

All of the information and trailers and interviews with the directors of things are more in line with the orignal game than the IW or any other game (But still, talk is talk). I'm not certain it's going to be amazing either. I'm just hoping its better than invisible war (which is still in my top 20 favorite games)... if its not, no big deal. I'll play epic mickey :P

Who would you want to develop it?

Can u elaborate?

About Deus Ex, the new one, I think it's gonna be a huge disappointment and get around 80 on Meta.

A remake of the bombing of the Statue of Liberty would be epic!

If this game is as good as the star wars prequels (1 and 3)......well one can only hope

It would be the best game ever then!

Invisible War was a dissapointment. Who would I want to develop it? No idea, I'll play it and enjoy it, just like I enjoy fallout even though Bethesda are nowhere nearly as good at making RPGs as Black Isles were and probably never will be.

Warren Spector is allowed some missteps (Epic Mickey looks amazing btw) since he's developed so many good games. Some games are in the right place at the right time, if they can be replicated or improved then great, I just doubt it. I tend to keep my view pessimistic so that I can enjoy the new game on its own merits as opposed to getting all hyped up and then being dissapointed.

i know that would be considered a dissapointment to most.

But if it gets that score as a representation of its quality. And it stays true to enough of the principles. I'll be happy with that score O_o

and I rate harshly ask darth. Beings I've always thought of you as Darth's fatherly figure... and khuutra his grandpa. You should tell darth what hentai is, he does not know!

edit oh yeah you don't know who I am, I'm thelifatree if you even remember who that is.

and @farmland... I get your point. I'm that way too kinda even if it doesn't seem that way, I guess more positive words come out of my mouth/hands. :P.

Who is Darth's fatherly figure, me?  Either way I agree.
