Who is exaggerating GT5's effect in JP/EU?

Just heard that Europe is getting a Black wii, with wii fit plus game, wii sports and black blance board.

If you look at it from the outsiders point of view you can see that Postofficebuddy has replied to me and you have posted a reply to him that is effectively mocking my disbelief that GT5 will move large quantities of hardware,

Need not drop into the "Black Friday Sales Prediction Thread" to see someone who believes that GT5 will be the next best thing since sliced bread and will move millions of PS3's over time, I understand that it will give a substantional HW boost, but I doubt it'd be much higher than that of Halo Reach, but the only thing to do is wait I guess.. However releasing on the biggest week of the year it is a bit hard to tell which sales are a result of holiday boost and which are the result of software releases..

He was referring to everyone who is saying GT5 won't be big in general. It's nothing new tho, ps3 has no games, HR won't sell much..GOW won't sell like in the PS2 era cuz the market is not there, LBp won't sell much etc etc....this is just the next thing in the line...let's see with time if GT5 moves a significant amount of HW or not in the future..for now it's all speculation from all sides..so yes wait and see

oh and to clarify, i haven't seen anyone say GT5 'alone' will move 'millions' of HW yet tbh...personally I think it will help move a significant amount with time..it's the whole package that will matter in the future...current game offerings plus what's coming in the next year or two.....would be interesting times next year around this month ;)

Yeah with a possible PS3 pricecut next year, it will be interesting indeed! Although I think that 360 and Wii will cut even further, it's good to have healthy competition, well for a consumer anyway.

You did kind of spark my comment but I wasn't really directing that at you in particular, just at the general group that have been saying that. And I'll admit it was a bit premature. Although I do think GT5 will at least modestly increase PS3 baseline sales in EMEAA for a decent amount of time. My BF prediction is mostly inspired by Source's prediction that 1.2 million is possible that week.

Oh and Mugen, you'd better watch it lest you find a knife in your back. lol

nah I think it will be interesting even before the price cut....

the strength of PS3 in EMEAA will be clearly shown once the price cut comes in tho....but yea again next year of sales will be very interesting

P.S And to clarify, I am not debating that GT5 will sell ALOT of software, probably the best selling exclusive on PS3, it's just that I am doubtful as to whether it will move large amount of hardware.
