Interesting they're both so close, 360 SW outsold Wii SW by 3 million in Americas this week thanks to Black Ops, it could possibly pass Wii next week if Black Ops sustains enough. HW is trickier .. Wii is rising very fast and could even overtake next week, so it's hit and miss as to whether 360 can overtake. I still see BF being Wii's.

I dunno...the Red Wii came out this week

similarly we saw Wii rise a lot last week in EU..but this week its rise was much slower and PS360 both did more than it

you might see that happen in NA too...basically meaning 360 might keep the lead (albeit not by that much)

PS360 should have increased by a wider margin in EMEAA this week for obvious reasons, 360 especially. COD and Kinect launch... And we can't pretend that COD had zero effect on the PS3. It most definitely had little effect on the Wii though.

360 will win Americas both Se and Hw.

For sure !!!  Its amazing that an American console is going to win this year in the United States. Even atari didnt succed that, back in the days...

Well, Atari Games (Tengen) and Atari Corp. (owned briefly by Commodore) were just ashes of what Atari Inc. was before the crash (when Warner splitted and sold the company), so they had no chance to compete against the Nintendomination... Atari Inc. was the last American company to dominate the industry in their home turf, now Microsoft has the chance to at least win a year which is incredible after 25 years of Japanese domination (Ninty, Sega, Ninty, Sony and Ninty again)...

Meh, with everything that has happend i thought the X360 was already ahead for the year.... Interesting

Let's wait Christmas: Christmas is Wii-time.

I think 360 can win HW but SW not so much.

It's depend on what DKCR and Epic Mickey does after they get released. I don't think there are anymore big name games coming out for the Xbox 360. The PS3 has GT5, but that's about it.

Alan Wake won't be counted because its a digital download.

Some of the bundles you mentioned were the $400 consoles. So it wasn't exactly a free game.

Most importantly, not every Xbox 360 is sold with a game. I believe every Wii sold this year came with two games. Probably last year as well.

Really? You're so smart. Not knowing that every Wii is bundled and not every 360 is bundled. Number of different games is not the same of number of games.

After December I think it won't even be nearly close  let alone nearly overtaking.

We shall keep posting here, its a nice VS thread.

How many times do we need to really go over this, its like your saying if the wii wasn't bundled with a game someone would have went to the store and bought it without a game. If wiisports wasn't bundled it would only benefit another game because they would have just bought wiisports seperately or bought another game, which means the software sales would still be where they are. I love the excuses for a console that relies on "hardcore gamers" it sure can't sell a game, considering the fact that a console that relies on "soccer moms and kids' sells as much software only shows how bad the 360 sells games, i guess thats why it shares most of its library with the ps3.
