Forums - Nintendo - Nobuo Uematsu confirmed as The Last Story composer, composed 40 songs

I share Ishiki's concern. Though it is quite possible that a great rpg could do perfectly with 40 tracks, I rather have 80 (always talking about good quality tracks, btw).

Topic already posted my darling, otherwise great news.

Just reiterating what you said. I'm not saying it won't be fine with 40.

Lost Odyssey was fine and a good soundtrack with 56 tracks. However, it is not near my favorite soundtracks in videogames (like other of Uematsu's which are). This just wasn't what I was hoping for. That's it.

Final Fantasy VI was the best of Nobuo Uematsu. It may be the best soundtrack ever made for a videogame.

The Last Story has more Final Fantasy in it than the actual Final Fantasy series at the moment.

True.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Ok, here its a sample of the music of the game, with some images for those worried about the quality of both:

As in my other post with the exact same thread

if 40 songs is true. 40 songs isn't very much compared to past FF games 80 or Lost Odyssey 56 or the excellent xenoblade soundtrack which is fantastic at 91 songs. And I'm not talking about Quality versus Quantity here. Because all those games were Quality as well.

just sayin

40 songs are from Uematsu, the game can have a lot more, to put it in perspective...

Xenoblade has 91 song:

- 11 composed by Yoko Shinomura (Parasite Eve, Legend of Mana, Kingdom Hearts)

- 51 composed by Yatsunori Mitsuda (Xenogears, Luminous Arc, Xenosaga)

- 29 composed by the ACE team

The contribution by Uematsu is very big as it can represent around 50% of the total of songs of the game.

Mitsuda only composed ONE song (the ending song). 11 songs is composed by Shinomura, and the rest is composed by both Manami Kiyota and ACE .

51 by Mitsuda? I don't think he did that many, he wasn't the main composer. Unless you have a link?

Also you're forgetting Manami Kiyota, anoher composer.

Ok, my bad. 50 by Manami Kiyota (who I don't know) and only 1 by Mitsuda. MY POINT STILL REMAINS, that one composer does 40 doesn't mean THE FULL SOUNDTRACK is 40 songs long.

That still sounds like too much :P I think Ace Plus did most of the soundtrack but I'm not sure.

Well that's what the Soundtrack info says (4 cds with 91 songs, each has the composer next to it) yoko 11, Manami 50, Mitsuda 1 and ACE 29. I can give you more details if you want like...

Manami running time 2:33:39

Yoko running time 0:36:50

ACE running time 1:31:49

Mitsuda running time 0:04:30

TOTAL running time 4:46:48
