Wow, now the PS3 and the Xbox are as doomed as the PSP Go!

Above: still the best game of the year.

Though I do think the Wii version will have far better legs than most people realize. |
i don't particularly remember anyone (seriously) claiming that the wii version of CoD would outsell the HD versions but i could easily drag up a good 2-3 dozen threads from nintendo fans claiming that 3rd parties are at fault for their low sales and that if they just made a high quality game that wasn't a late port that the "core" would buy wii games.
so here is CoD BO, all of the reviews say is very high quality, not gimped, not late....where are the sales? never mind outselling the HD version, less than 20k is just miserable. I guess those stellar goldeneye sales must be to blame...

Yes, some sales are of Goldeneye to blame, but still, you're looking at it the same way as everyone looks at a Nintendo Wii sales. Let me show you something: http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/13684/boom-blox/
Everyone said the game was a flop because of it's first month perfonce, but behold: the game has sold over 1 million copies. Not exactly my definion of a flop.
Then let me show these:
http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/39017/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-reflex-edition/
http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/23991/call-of-duty-world-at-war/
http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/sales/4935/call-of-duty-3/
It's true that they didn't sell as good as the HD version, but that was expected, and yet all of them sold a lot over a million. Now just watch it's legs.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Yes the goldeneye sales are to blame, the core FPS games have an audience but its not a HUGE audience (maybe around 1.5 - 2 million buyers), and when you release 2 games one that its exclusive and one that its not, both good, and within one week of separation you will split the potential buyers market. The wii owner will have to choose if they want some exclusive game with local multiplayer and solid online, or the other that will come out in the other consoles as well, without local multiplayer with zero adevertisement.
Very few Wii gamers will have the money to buy both the same month, less within a week of each other and taking into account the other great games coming out in a different genre just around the corner (Sonic colours, Donkey Kong, Epic Mickey). I made my choice last week and bought Goldeneye (USA) and will not buy another FPS till January at least when both my wallet has recovered and I have played other different kind of games, because I like FPS but not enough to make them my most buyed genre.

Not released on Wii on mainland Europe yet, that's where it is
looks like it will be close this week with regard to the 360-PS3 difference.

I don't care, thanks to Red Wii it still has a shot WW with PS3 |
Youre forgetting the COD:BO boost for the PS3 in America
Between PS3 and Wii Japan and EMEAA combined give about a 5k advantage to PS3. Its basically $50 Walmart Giftcard on Sunday plus Black Ops boost vs Red Wii boost. And NPD had us overtracking everything in America last month although Wii was overtracked by about 20k more than PS3.
