oh gawd, first MS tells us how we aren't to be trusted then they release numbers to confirm what we tracked (and by we i don't mean me of course).  llllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmeee....

Thing is. MS indicated that VGC numbers were off, and then released a statement claiming 1m shipped, while VGC has it hat 1.3m Sold. Which would require MS to ship atleast 1.5 - 2m. So they actually were right when they told people to not invest too much hope in VGCs numbers, the numbers are too high.

The numbers aren't 1 Million though. They're OVER 1 Million.

VGC could be bang on the money... IF these numbers are sold to retail (Which they're very likely not to be)

Article (Microsoft's press release and some comments) are up. The figures are worldwide, as I said on the previous page once I saw their press release which is more clear than the Reuters article.

As an aside, I had said in another thread they'd announce it once they got to 1m shipped, I so called that. Also, its pretty clear if we were low Greenburg wouldn't have said anything because "beating expectations" looks good. The reason he said what he did was because "missing expectations" being lower than what we had, makes Kinect look like it is performing slower than expected. In raw figures the numbers are obviously very good either way, my concern is still that they're mostly selling to the base, and thus Kinect isn't pushing a whole lot of hw for how big it is. That may change soon, but it is somewhat telling that they didn't mention a spike in hardware sales or anything in the release.

If it'd been 1.3m shipped, they'd report 1.3m, or "over 1.3m sold". Its just that "over X number" is just a lose term to indicate success and momentum. "Over X number" is never more than the closest "whole" number. Like 1.1, 1.2, 1.3.

But i dont seen any chance for VGC to be "bang on the money"? Im not sure if i understand you correctly, but the numbers are obviously shipped. They always are, and always will be. Why pay NPD to do their numbers if they have the money and manpower to collect sold to customers data in 10 days?

Whole purpose of this thread was to show the haters that vgchartz weren't far off the mark, but instead we raving lunatic running around place twisting words and numbers to his liking, so how about taking off the tin foil hat and getting back on topic.

Sold!!! SOLD!!! NOT %$#@ING SHIPPED!!!

Read the god damn article and stop repeating yourself over the threads. You have said "So ps3 could have been ahead of 360 weekly sales" in about 4-5 different threads.

Quit it, it is trolling, and not even stealthy...

Have you never been in the retail industry?

Clearly not 1.3 million to the common term seems less then 1 million. Its damn psychological. If they said 1.3 million you would be saying why dont they just say over 1 million as they usually do. QUIT TROLLING.

In 2.. the first one was in this one since the numbers didnt add up. Then i thought id make a thread about the numbers, and added the thought pattern to the second thread. Stop flaming me or i'll report you. Calm your rage. Its just the internet.
