That might have been a bad example. I'm thinking TF2, where you have to ubercharge a scout as a medic and get 3 kills. NO ONE WOULD EVER WASTE AN UBER ON A SCOUT. Do get this achievement you basically have to say "fuck it, I don't want to win."


See, even that one is interesting because it forces you to play different ways.  In cases like that, it's not about winning, it's about actually having fun.

The rest of the team will probably very happy with your decision to be an achievement hound as they continue to run against a wall of sentries unubered and some invincible scout tries to bat down a heavy

I like having fun at a game.  As long as you aren't being a troll and doing something the game wants you to do, like get achievements, there's really nothing wrong with that.

If I'm playing and I see someone doing that, I can either find another server or stop being a whiny bitch.  It's all about the simple solutions!

Achievements/Trophies that require you to collect things. Most importantly, fighting games that require you to win an insurmountable amount of online matches (Marvel vs. Capcom 2, I'm looking at you)

I do prefer Trophies/Achievements that make you do several different playstyles or get a certain amount of kills/combos. Those are actually worthwhile.



This is the true definition of owning.

Online trophies are the worst.

Then comes the Complete the Game on hardest difficulty. Of Course I had no problem with playing Uncharted 2 or GOW III again on the hardest but some other games are tedious.

Doing things within a certain amount of time.

I hate the ones that are hard to get yet only yield a pathetic little bronze. You should be able to get all the bronze trophies by sleepwalking through the game, more or less.

I also hate the hidden trophies. Goddamit! how is one meant to know what to do to get the dang trophy? Either they require a totally anal geekzoid who plays every little nuance of the game to get it, meaning every normal person has to go on the webz to find out what to do (thank geekzoids), or they're auto-trophies that you get simply for getting through the game; wow big deal.
