Gotta love the "Exciting" announcements from Apple... to them everyting is "exciting". I'd bet that for them a f*rt from Steve Jobs ass is exciting...

It IS kind of a big deal that the largest digital music retailer finally started selling the best-selling musicians of all time.

Apple didn't make a huge fuss over this but it was worth a splash page on their site... after all, they ARE the largest digital distributors of music worldwide and the largest overall music retailer in the US.

It's ridiculous that people will go out of their way just to trash-talk Apple... as if Apple gives a damn. Hating companies is such a waste of time.

Anyone buying this is an idiot.

I have had the entire back catalogue of Beatles songs on my itunes forever... the box set cds can be had cheaper than this.  buy and rip.

Ehm... the Beatles STEREO box set released last year was a whopping 300 euro's.. you can buy it now for 260...

Amazon has reduced the price today from 260 dollars to 130... so no.. you couldn't get the remastered STEREO boxset cheaper..

re-released

It was available in the UK years ago.

I put STEREO in capitals ... the first 4 beatles album weren't available in stereo until last years STEREO box set...

And yes.. the Beatles in stereo is a big deal..

and like I said.. the original 4 albums sound better in mono...

and quite a few musical critics agree with me.  The original, god like, producer George Martin... also agrees.

Stealth editing isn't allowed :P and you oblivious haven't listen to them in the remastered stereo version.. cause you don't own them.. they are fucking amazing..  and their a lot of "idiots" cause the Beatles are taking over the itunes charts..

Ok, that is pretty insane, but isn't it a little late to get the Beatles?  Literally everybody who wants them probably has them, they aren't just going to buy them again just to give Apple money...or will they?

You can't get the Beatles as digital download legally.. they wouldn't allow it.. untill now.. I wouldn't be surprised if they sell millions again.. like Michael Jackson when he died and his iTunes songs where bought millions of times...

Anyone buying this is an idiot.

Apparently it is climbing the charts....hahahahha

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

Well it might be very important, but "exciting" I'd disagree... Anyone who is a Beatle fan already owns the physical media and can just rip it at the comfort of their own homes, I just can't see anyone bouncing around in excitement over this announcement. If they'd announce a specific partnership for releasing some previously unreleased material, then I'd call that exciting. Now, I'm not hating Apple, I'm just saying that they use the word "exciting" for almost EVERYTHING which, at least to me, seems kind of ridiculous.

Is it important? Yeah. Am I excited? of course not.

That's a fair point. I even pointed out how silly Apple's "excitement" was over Mighty Mouse earlier in this thread.

Still, I think this is mildly exciting, if only because it means the last major digital holdout is on the market.

Well even though we know what it is now, I bet its Flash support. lololol

This isn't a huge deal right now but it's a big step for people who buy Beatles albums starting today. Remember that there are millions of kids out there who will fall in love with The Beatles but don't even own a CD player. It's just another way for Apple to cement themselves as the premiere digital retailer of music.

Kind of hard to download from iTunes without a computer :P

Sig thanks to Saber! :D
