Yeah, those are faked 3D screenshots, I can't wait to see the effect all by myself too.
Have you seen it?

@_@
Everything looks like flat layers, or do we really get the sense of depth spread in every minor surface?

it does make the game seem more deep. Paper Mario and Animal Crossing were actually the best looking games and the 3D really wowed me. Resident Evil looks how you would expect it to look, kinda like a 3D movie. Their are some really bad 3D effects though, Im looking at you Ridge Racer

I saw both depending on the game. Some had obvious depth fields that looked like cardboard cutouts in motion. Others coneyed the sense of true depth everywhere.
The rEVOLution is not being televised

If this is like well done cross-eyed (which is the basic idea), it should be able to have actual depth in the polygons themselves, and look just about real overall. Doesn't mean every game will use that.
I'm not sure you can naturally change your focal point with your eyes though given that it's the screen itself that does the work.

Not really because this is some garage work of fake 3D using just one image and slicing it towards a skewed prespective to give the 3D effect. Those are not the 2 different images the 3DS produces, but yet I think I might keep this thread if some other cross eye images pop in.

I wasn't talking about those screenshots on the video. I was talking about well done cross eyed 3D which actually consists of 2 images with separation and different angles, which is what the 3DS will do as you pointed out.
In these you can actually change your focal point by looking at different points. But since you're not focusing with your eyes on 3DS and rather having the images go to each eye, I'm not sure you can change your focal point in it
