Forums - Nintendo - Destructoid reviews Sonic Colours, my review, our conflicting opinions...

You know, I really disagree on Sterling on many things (blaming the Wii audience for not buying Madworld in droves, and for buying Just Dance), but I'm not going to go after him just because he didn't like one game. He's given quite a few non outlier reviews, and also feels that 4.5 is still decent but below average, instead of "anything below 6 is crap" scale that a lot of the major sites seem to follow.

I should also add that several previews he wrote showed he had high hopes for this game, so him being disappointed means he did NOT want to just bash it for the sake of it.

I'm thinking about getting the DS version. I miss 2D Sonic and I'm not paying $15 for a third of the actual Sonic 4.

Then again, I have no DS platformers, so I'll probably get NSMB or Mario 64 DS first.

Well I had loads of fun playing this last night...didn't know I was playing a bad game at all.

Hmm...I have to agree as well!

Maybe, we're not...normal?

No you two are normal. Sterling is just a douche. His review is the worst by far. Usually you throw out the worst review of a game and the best review. It's sorta of telling when multiple reviews arrive at a games top score but only one douche has a score that low.

Phew, I'm glad i'm human after all! I swear he just does it for attention...

Yes, but have you in fact played this game?

If not, then I can see where you're coming from. HOWEVER, if you've played this game, then you'll know his score is ridiculously low. Lower than Sonic 4 BY A LONG WAY? That's not right man, not right...

Also, themanwithnoname, i'd recommend NSMB and Sonic Rush for the DS, and, if you can, get Colours and the galaxy games for the Wii as a starting point ;)

I repeat, however the score is, it's honest, because he showed before that he genuinely hoped it would be good. He wasn't out to get the game. If you disagree with the number, then you're falling for the fallacy that the number is what matters. It's why it gets the number that matters, and so far a lot of posts seem to just want to bash him for the score alone.

It's no biggie.

Sterling was handed a copy of Sonic and the Black Knight, and unknowingly reviewed that game.

Sonic Rush looks pretty cool. I'm going to start my Sonic collection there before hitting this one. I've got NSMB coming in from Amazon, which I'm pretty pumped about!

I'm looking for Yoshi's Island, but apparently that's notoriously hard to find. I may just see if I can get a cheap used copy somewhere.

Good place to start! NSMBWii is much better IMHO, but the DS version is handy also!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

A lot of people don't want Sonic to be good.

If it features newish gameplay, it's straying too far from what originally made it great.

If it features old-school gameplay then it's stale.

This game is the best Sonic game I play in a long time . Jim sterling is smoking some good stuff or just trying to get our attention. Why don't we stop talking about him and start talking about how much we love Sonic colors. I bought the DS and the Wii versions and there both excellent games.

As long as I don't have to play Sonic and the Secrets Rings,Black Knight or the werehog part of Unleashed  again I'm happy.

Please Sega keep going this way...don't look back.
