Is Megamind from Japan?

Yeah I heard this movie is pretty bad. Only Darth could possibily stand it.

Actually the people who did the FX to Battle: LA did this movie.  And from my understanding the Battle: LA guys were thinking about bringing the Skyline boys to court to stop the movie.  But apparently the movie is just different enough to keep them out of the courts.

The skyline people have actually bragged that they used the same equipment that was purchased for Battle: LA for Skyline and thats how they got such spectacular FX work on the cheap.  I guess its good to be able to do your own movie with your own FX team doing the stuff at night time, after their day jobs are done.  I mean what fanboy hasn't wanted control of a great FX team and a group of actors?  I sure as shit would make a great fanboy movie of WW2!  WW2 with either Nazi Zombies or Nazi Aliens is full of win!!!!!!!!!!!

Even if this movie sucks it looks like the FX work is pretty sweet.  So I will be giving it a download, and I agree it couldn't be as bad as that Twilight BS.  I like the premise and I am a sucker for most things sci-fi so sign me up.

I can stand bad movies. However I can't stand a movie that blatantly rips off many good game series and then fails. How do you fail at an alien invasion movie?

Yeah just watched this movie and I agree with the OP. The aliens but also the ships were a little too similar to Resistance and the characters along with the storyline were weak. The only good thing about this movie were the special effects and that's about it.

I went to see Megamind instead but I really want to see Skyline. Looks good!

I hate to say it but after reading your post I want to watch it more now. Most things I see/play/read these rips off of something else, its a matter of if its done well. Guess i'll have to see for my self

A budget of only $10-20 million? Despite it looking awful, it looked expensive awful.
