They're a private company so they're under no obligation to reveal financial information.

I'd bet they don't want to talk much about their gold mine. The less others have the idea to create Steam clones, the better for the company that is growing by word of mouth.
Back in 2004 (if I remember correctly) I read an interview where Gabe Newell (basically) said that valve had no real intention of getting into the digital distribution business, and that Steam was (essentially) created because they couldn't find a decent service (or anyone who was interested in creating a decent service) when they were looking for a digital solution for Half-Life 2 ...

Bellingvue is not a city in Washington. You merged Bellingham (an hour and a half north of Seattle) and Bellevue (10 minutes east of Seattle). Valve is in Bellevue, which borders Redmond, where Microsoft is based.
