A nice review with the caveat regarding the Wiimote which has less lag and is almost as accurate (and in some instances better) than Move when you include Motion .

I dont think theres a caveat there, where can I find the basics of that claim?

Experience. Move is more accurate overall, but not by much.

I don't have experience with the lag to speak of as they both have hardly any at all. I did read somewhere regarding their speeds, but I'm not sure where the link for it is nor can I be bothered to find it for the sake of a minor issue I had with the discussion.

It's all good.

Yes.

www.spacemag.org - contribute your stuff... satire, comics, ideas, debate, stupidy stupid etc.

that first fight is pretty awesome. I'm guessing all the head bopping and movement is from the head tracking, that's really good.

I thought it was a pretty good review. It's always a bit of a risk when you make your ability to land a hit stat dependent because it's very hit or miss (no pun intended) with players and reviewers. It doesn't bother me because I really love stats and stat building in computer games but I can see why a lot of reviewers gave it a bad score as a result. I don't think this review or the reviews that gave it a low score are bad, but I really think it highlights that this feature is something that some gamers will overlook (me) while other gamers will see this as a gamebreaker. Because I grew up playing Baldur's gate and Morrowind the idea of an invisible 'hit roll' is like second nature to me, but I have to accept that it is a bit of a dying style these days, hence why games like Oblivion got rid of it.

Don't get me wrong.  I don't want to give off the wrong impression.  It's not that you won't be able to punch hard or fast or semi-accurately without any statistics.  It just obviously helps quite a bit having stat points put into your character.  It's something that is necessary to move up the ranks and the training exercises aren't that bad. (And there is a good variety of them too).

I would like to say thanks aswell, the review peaked my interest for the game yet again. The only problem i have with it is that i'm afraid i will get bored with it to quick(because of the lacking story etc.) to justify buying it at the current price (45 euro's). Also i play my games using a projector, and while all Move games so far have worked great even in the room with the lights turned low, i'm afraid the head tracking won't work properly.

You might find that the head tracking won't work, but you can still play the game without much of a difference.

We've got energy saving lights in my living room where we play it, so the head tracking doesn't work at all, which is a shame, but doesn't stop the game being pretty awesome.

I'm thinking about using a lamp to highlight me while I play it and see if that works.

good review. thanks. this game is too hard-core but unfortunately there aren't many hard-core gamers. it's producer's mistake that this game doesn't include a casual mode. i wanted to get this game but i've decided to take advantage of those review scores and wait for a quick price drop. i'm mean :D

Works for me because I love stats XD

I don't think anyone has a problem with stats that buff you damage or endurance/hpgauge I was just pointing out that some people wouldn't like their accuracy affected by them because they expect total 1:1 out the box. If it was a JRPG or something I don't think many people would mind but it is a bit of a strange genre to put it in.

But anyway thanks for explaining it in your review, I know I'll probably like the game now =)

A nice review of the game, I've ordered it on the strength of the iWaggle video review. Before seeing that video I'd only read the IGN and Video Gamer reviews and wrote the game off as a load of old bollocks with broken controls. The iWaggle review completely changed my opinion and your review has convinced me that I've made the right choice, ta!

Those of you having problems with the head tracking should try twisting the thingy on the PS Eye from Blue to Red, I remember reading on another forum thatit helps a great deal.

i would just like to say thank you now, i got my game yesterday and it's just like you say it is, nowhere near as bad as IGN are making out, now to enjoy my new game but boy is it tiring lolz
