No not really.

It's not always the case for products like this, but do you think it can do an additional 1.3 million units in the second week (in those regions alone, that is)?

Kinda hard, but it does happen, I'll be surprised and impressed at the same time.

Well it didn't sell 1.3 mill this week it sold about 800k. Come BF and Xmas that's completely doable I think.

Of course it can... not at this level forever, but for the next 6 or 7 weeks it will.  After that it will of course slow down as everything does following the holidays.  Note I havent said it will reach 20m... but I also havent said it cant.

You dont think it can obviously, so what do you think it will stop selling at? dont just say no it cant, tell me the level you think it will simply stop selling at. 

If you think it cant reach 20m then you must have a figure you think it CAN achieve.

Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that I think it's unreasonable to think that it can reach 20m (I did say earlier in the thread that it is possible), I just wanted to hear your take on all this is all.

Usually before I predict on how long a product can hold out, I just wait for second week sales. Right now, it's really a wildcard. Hence why I said the word of mouth and the holiday boom are the deciding factors in its overall sales.

I agree the current holiday surge does make the long term prospects very difficult to gauge...  but i think that kinect already has some reasonable traction in sales and momentum as generated by the general news media and word of mouth.  I didnt expect wii-like word of mouth, but I am beginning to experience this.

Likewise, MS are determined to make this the new "it" product to have.

For me, these are happy days regardless. I always claimed that Move and Kinect would flop hard but appear to have been dead wrong... Thing is, me being wrong has an added bonus; the high and mighty Sean Malstrom is also dead wrong and has been made a fool for all to see!

But he'll never admit that, in fact; he'll never even mention it is my guess.

WSR is at 19,49 million, I bet it will not stop selling before it reaches 20 million... Unless kinect steals the thunder from wii fit plus with some fitness game, WFP will be selling more than 20 million too. I think.

That is if you meant the people who think it will do 20 million.

Yeah. It might not be able to sell that much for many reasons, but to say it is bizarre to even give it a chance is just.. bizarre. :D
