Forums - Sony - Capcom is Surprised by the sales growth of RE5:Move edition

That's nice to know, I'm hopping for more hardcore Move support besides Sony.

Well so far Sony seems to be showing more hardcore games than its competitor. Looking forward to seeing how Killzone 3 works with move.

Hopefully publishers will jump on the bandwagon and create good games rather than rehashes of the same boring sports games.

Agreed. Well, I'm happy with the actual lineup, but it can be better (of course) and adding more third party support for hardcore games is a nice thing.

I think most of them are waiting for a bigger installed base and they are seeing how Resi 5 and other games are performing. Killzone 3 may have a big impact for Move and help to push more Move enabled games from other studios.

Hopefully this mains Boihazard (Resident Evil)4 Wii Edition gets a PS3 HD Port.

RE4 with Wii Motion did 1.8m, don't know why they'd expect it flop for Move?

I don't think they expected it to flop, it's just doing better than they expected. They probably thought sales on the PS3 had already been pretty much tapped out for RE5, I can't really blame them for that.

Its probably because it is well known by many of the hardcore/core owners with a Wii as an excellent Wiimote title.

Tease.

Plus RE4 Wii Edition was not only a debut title, but one of the better third party core titles to demonstrate how the Wii's pointer controls could improve how an already popular game plays.

When I received my copy of RE5 Gold, I was surprised to see that they redesigned the package to clearly indicate "Move Compatible" as though it were a new edition.

Maybe they were partly surprised by how many Move users didn't already own RE5 Gold. Two separate releases on a one year old title should have pretty much tapped out sales if not for the update.

Combined with the impressive sales of RE4 Wii Edition, it just shows that people go gaga (my second time using this phrase.....does this mean Leo-J has won?) for a motion controlled Resident Evil game.  I bet if they released a new RE game for the Wii that wasn't on rails, it would have sold very well, too.
