yep they sunk 50 million into it. Now the company is 50 million in debt since it failed so hard

50 Million?

$100 millons actually

okay LOL i can see im not being taken seriously.

Actually, whatever the number they wouldn't be in debt to EA, they just don't get enough money flow to keep the studio open or see any residuals from game sales.  EA would just simply be out so much money.

Oh yeah, the publisher is the one that generally assumes all the risk and since EA (I think it was EA) can afford that price tag they aren't going in debt over that.

The publisher pays the studio so much money per milestone or whatever the pay period and then it's up to the studio to spend the money (though since it's the publishers money, they generally get to approve the budget).  When the game is released, the publisher makes their money back and then the studio starts receiving money.  And of course all that varies depending on the contract but I believe that's how it generally is.

i read an article about apb after it had gone down,

they said that people generally liked the idea and it had some good points which i can't remember now,but somehow it ended up with not alot to do in the game with just the same mission over and over

i too liked the idea of it,but my laptop can't handle mmo's so i didn't get to play it

                                                                                                                                        Above & Beyond

I remember reading about it and it sounded awesome...but I couldn't tell you what was so bad about it because it bombed. Badly. I didn't even know it had come out until I heard that they were gonna shut the servers down.

ABP: All Points Bulletin

It wasn't showed at the Sony show and it was an MMO game. I think the games servers have been shut down since no one was playing it.

I guess they forgot to write about the bugs and how the game just didn't really work and that it looked pretty awful and how you needed an insanely good PC to run it and it still looked awful.
