I hope it's better this time around. Or rather, more mainstream consumable.
Pixel Art can be fun.
It's funny that it is considered a failure when it actually sold more than most exclusive PS3 or 360 games, even more than some multiplatform titles that are considered a success. It's at 2.88 million at the moment btw.

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles
Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped: the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA
bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

It was the lack of hardware pushing that mattered most, I guess.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Its only funny to ppl like yourself, that only scale Success of Failure based numbers. Look at FFXIV its over nearing 1mill by now without the console and its universally regarded as a failure currently.
They said they are changing things for the possible Wii Music 2.
Great news. I hope they make a good music game out of it.
"To play or not to play, that is the question."- A wise man
Lifetime sales prediction
Wii 79/150 million
Xbox 360 47.7/73 Million
PS3 43.6/69 Million
This time, put in good music, and have a virtual drumset using two motion , and a music editor, and I'll buy it for sure.
Do it like the previous, and you lose my respect.
I LOVE ICELAND!

Nintendo thinks that when a game isn't recieved well they need to make it more "accessible". Like Super Mario Galaxy 2. So expect it to be worse on that front, not better.
The fact it that music composition can't be made accessible even by Nintendo. It requires a long learning curve with specialist software, a grounding in music theory, and probably being able to play at least the piano (keyboard). Waggle won't fix that, you can't even make a good track in Mario Paint's composer without understanding those things.
NB: I can't compose or play an instrument. But I'd like to. Hence many years spent searching for some easy way to do it - there isn't one.
Music games can be big. if they crack the 'fun factor' this time, wii music 2 could be great.
In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.
