He's with Verizon, though, and WP7 hasn't come to a Verizon phone yet.

Verizon has Windows 6.5 phones though.



Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

Believe it or not, a lot of the gaming industry does use our data so if either our estimates are way too low (which I don't believe they are) or sales have been a little slower than he hoped - he'd have good reason to try to discredit the figures we published.

Either way, he obviously feels obliged to make a comment on it or else he wouldn't have bothered.


And he felt obligated enough to say it in a jackass way, his feathers are ruffled, I wonder if its the stock thats readily available on shelves and they can't go "we under-shipped".  Thing is he's already sealed his fate, 1 he's tweeted VGC all over the net anyone that follows him will see it and check out the site, 2 if/when final numbers are dead on then he's just provided VGC with a huge credibility boost and hurt his own cause he's the one that was unprofessional.

Whatever the outcome is, I think VGChartz worded it poorly with "initial kinect sales revealed". Sounds too oficial and precise.

Well...you can't fault the dude for avoiding 6.5, when 7 was just on the horizon, and they ARE getting their phones on the 18th.

His mistake there is admitting it really. I can think of more than a few ways to weasel it to that not being what it seems, but I am not here to really defend the guy. The only valid reason would be personal phone vs business phone. Why not try out what else is out there if you have a free one from work?

Yeah, I was thinking it was official when I clicked it. They should change the title to estimate to make it seem more legitimate and imply the sampling.
