| enrageorange said: some crazy predictions here. week 1 650k. Lifetime 2.5mil. There is no way i can see this game outsell modern warfare in americas let alone mw2... This is assuming the game isn't very heavily bundled. |
whether you assume it will be bundled or not
put one figure
i say it will be bundled big time next year in NA if not this
GT4 bundles lasted a couple of years and not just some of them, like the bundles which are always present throughout the year
Looking at the preorders, Gran Turismo 5 is at 250k on November 6, 2010. Reading the comments about pre-orders and first week sales from ioi, very few games sell double the amount of their preorders in the first week. I hold Gran Turismo 5 to the same standard. Here is my NA prediction for Gran Turismo week 1:
425,000

uncharted 2 almost did
the reason why pre-orders are low is cause people don't know its releasing as no ads plus so many years have passed
when people get to know it then they could be really interested in it
and also give your lifetime NA prediction

I had 2nd thoughts considering we are still 2 weeks out and it is more than conceivable for GT5 to get 100k more in preorders. I stand by my first week prediction.
Lifetime NA = 3 million
I believe GT5 will be bundled and if it is patched to be playable with Move, then it will have legs long into the early portion of the PS4's lifespan. Yes, my first week sales are low because I am factoring in all the other to be released games and other gems released earlier in the year. However, when Sony bundles GT5 it will catch fire.
It would be more, but I don't know if Sony can ride with GT5 as long as they did GT3. The thing to watch is Nintendo's 2010 holiday sales, if they are the same as last year or lower, then I expect for Nintendo to release a Wii 2 in holidays 2012 or early 2013. I predict Nintendo will be the first to release a new console because of the lagging sales of the Wii in comparison to the rock steady sales for both the PS3 and 360.
Then again, I could be dead wrong and Nintendo may use sales from the 3DS to hold off on releasing a new console until 2014 or later.

alls fine
i was just worried that you might have two predictions in mind with bundling and non-bundling
as as sony would bundle so i suggested you give the bundled sales figure
i think 720 too could be launched in 2012,a last month we were think MS is all on top but after the adjustments PS3 was all over and sales are decreasing from the redesign boost.360 might come back to its old sales path,if not for kinect.(lets see how this weird holidays go by).everybody has many problems and alot of boosts happening too

I can't give a bundled figure for the 1st week, though I will be shell shocked if it has been delayed to be specifically bundled. Bundled first week or a month or two later, I am still sticking to my original 1st week sales and lifetime for the Americas.
1.1KK first week 4KK LT. Yes those are some huge numbers, but that's what I dream GT5 will do in NA =P

i was mentioning bundle for lifetime sales only
if bundled on black friday then it will be big
but mostly not happening like in EU
