in my experience from the GoW round, meaning when I joined once the mafia was down to only 4 players, we never managed to be online all at the same time to discuss.

but yeah with vanilla it should there is no strat on who to block, who to investigate, who to do the sk kill on.. so even the mafia doesn't have that much of an excuse.

I want prof lynched, GOW is the only one that fell for his trick of "vanilla with a name" and he paid for it. Whether or not prof is mafia, it's his fault GoW died.

Yeah I know, as I said in the lead-in it's a total facepalm on my part. All of that was written the same real night that day one ended, so I didn't feel like wasting everything, or at least the last bit, that I worked on. I did see GoW's post that he usually votes randomly on day one, so in the future I won't take it as wish-washy. I think I really need to reevaluate things.

As to the death itself, I'm just shocked really that the flip is doctor. I see know hints of that in the posts so I can only imagine it was random luck for scum. If I assume GoW protected himself then that'd point to mafia also having a roleblocker or a member with unblockable kills.(Like Frieza from last game)

A message to the cop:

The doctor at this point cannot protect you and we can't rely on the idea that there might be a back-up or a bus driver. There probably isn't.

At this point you're going to have to make a pretty difficult decision about whether or not to be forthcoming with your information. There's going to come a point where, if you discover the identity of Mafia, you will need to decide how to get us to go after them - preferably without revealing what your role is.

Whatever you decide to do, be careful about it. If you think coming clean is the only way to make your powers useful before you get killed, then give as much information as you can. I don't think you should come forward, though, at least not for a while.

Where did GoW fall for prof's "trick", as you call it? I thought the only reply to his post was Heph's, which effectively said that he was completely wrong and that townies were nameless. Prof then made no move to get Heph lynched, nor Linkzmax. 

I think one of those previous two is more likely to be scum than Prof, but you never know at this early stage. We should keep an eye on all three of them (Each can only get two-thirds of an eye, unfortunately )

Indeed. I would say that there was more to GoW than met the eye (that was the scummiest behaviour I have ever seen, and indeed, was so scummy that he couldn't possibly be scum). For a moment, I thought he might be the jester, but Final-Fan would evidently never sink to those depths.

He seemed to be almost drawing the Mafia's attention. Why?

well to be frank I don't recall gow being extreemly active in the frist day... only time was last game when he was the cop.... he probably should have been more passive this time arround as the doctor... it usually don't work well (i know from experience).

if the mafia have a special role like that then we definitely have more than one cop like character or doctor... but I doubt it, this is vanilla.
