Inception but I feel it was overrated. Its the best movie I've seen so far generally because the rest were mostly crap. I haven't seen the social network and a bunch of smaller films I would ordinarily be interested in seeing because i don't have friends who would be interested in seeing them with me.

Off the top of my head it goes:

Inception> Toy Story 3 (also overated)>Get Him to the Greek>>>> Jackass 3D>>>>> Everything else i've seen this year including Predators and The Other Guys.

I get the point you're making that inception was amazing but there were other good movies too.

toy story 3 was brilliant.. they really, really did it right. those people at pixar are among the elite few people in the movie industry that really have a handle on their material.

with that said, i think how to train your dragon stands out for me as best of the year. toy story 3 was great, but i knew going in it would be. httyd blew me away completely. it was so genuinely smart and funny.. haven't been that happily surprised by a movie in a longggg time, if ever.

It's all about the game.
