You are looking too lightly on this actually, people can have the same color and still hate each other's ass. Americans have been using racisim in the wrong context for a very long time tbh. Chinese is a race, Japanese is a race, and a lot of other Asian countries are all different races and there are a lot of hate towards people from different countries sometimes for reasons other than the color of their skins. Black is not a race, yellow is not a race, brown and white are not god damned races. that differs by state, you can get 20 years or more  in some for rape and child molestation, consective life time or death sentence for 1st degree murder, multiple lifetime or a lot of years depends on how serious the 2nd degree murder is in most states, not sure if they get death in some states when too serious. Then there is the good behavior bullshit which lets you out pretty early so you can do it again or something, its retarded, death is so much easier.

id just like to say that while i agree more with khuutra, i think both his and joecools positions are absolutely crazy.  i think that there is a societal structure that can encourage and be accepting of racism   (example: black history month is racist and encourages racism), but a lot of people do make attempts to actually strive for fulfilling our own perceptions of ourselves being accepting and tolerant of everyone. 

I think that is of more importance...that people are willing to accept and treat others as equals regardless of personal apprehensions they have.
