The Spartacus TV series is beyond epic. I'm glad Andy Whitfield has recovered from his cancer. I can't wait for Season 2.

His cancer came back man, sad news, but they will be replacing him for series 2, i think someone on this thread suggested Wentworth Miller as a replacement - maybe it could work? Miller does play that type of intelligent, calculating hero in Prison Break, maybe it would work.

His cancer came back? I hope he's okay.

it tries so very VERY hard to be 300, and is ok, i enjoyed it, especially the boobies, and vagina's and all the other lady parts that was in that show lol

heres the funny thing i have all the episodes in HD but theyre in MKV format and i dont know how to convert them..... can you believe it ive got 18GB worth of spartacus and its useless to me :(... i can only watch it if i stream it to my PS3 but thats alot of hassle and i dont really like wireless streaming

Can't you just watch them on your PC? If you've got a laptop you should be able to directly connect it to your HD TV too.

the MKV format isnt compatible with windows movie player and im having trouble with divx player it keeps on freezing

I hope they find a good actor to replace him, @ naruball: I enjoyed Wentworth on Prison Break and I think he might do a good job as Spartacus, but I think I'd rather have a face that I couldn't pair with another character, you know what I mean?

Jupiter's Cock!

Actually I'm pretty sure that the fans will be upset with any choice. it's funny how in many forums people kept saying that they were not impressed by Andy's acting and after he said he could no longer play Spartacus, as his cancer came back, everyone seems to think he is irreplaceable.

I think by far what made the show into a success is the writing. Not so much the acting or the actors (though Lucy Lawless has a big and loyal fan base) and definitely not the sex and violence. People kept watching because of the interesting plot. So, I really don't mind who plays Spartacus, as long as he's a decent actor. But I get what you mean about seeing Wentworth as Michael from Prison Break. It would be nice to see if he could play Spartacus in a totally different way.

^I agree, the plot was fantastic and kept me glued to the screen. I'm sure whoever they pick will the the best that they can find, they are sure to not let the fans down.

Saw it on Netflix - awesome.

I agree that it was little cheesy in the beginning but got over it after couple of episodes.

Didn't know about the lead actor being sick - he did a good job.

and yes, lots of boobs and the women were all hot!

when is the second season starting?

hmmm, i thought you could play MKV in WMP. have you thought about Winamp - thats supposed to be quite good. the best thing imo is just to convert and burn it onto DVD, Neroshowtime does it automatically i think (not sure), but then you cant really do it unless you have a blu ray burner, because of the lack of storage on DVD for HD. (by the way i'm not an expert, but i think this is the gist of it).

Use media player classic; download the K-lite codec pack. Or alternatively you can try VLC player (I don't use it but I've heard it's good for virtually everything). You can find more info and downloads on here:

http://www.codecguide.com/

I found the K-lite codec pack pretty much covers all file types and is pretty good for HD stuff in MKV format. You can select which files you do and don't want Media Player Classic to be the default player on (as in you'll still be able to use DivX or Windows Media Player if you want).
