I wonder... why does everybody who is rarely or never even associated with the Wii in terms of content... always have a comment about it or Nintendo?

I mean, if the console does not concern you...or you don't even make games for it, why even mention it?

And yet, we  always get an earful of what the Wii is doing wrong or what its limitations are. I don't understand it.

You refuse to make Wii games; you complain about Nintendo not working hard enough; you belittle the console; you intentionally release subpar games to abuse and destroy the market; you spend the least money on it and still make profit. What more can they possibly do to prove they hate it?

I'm really surprised no one has attacked Reggie Fils-Aime at an E3 like the hip-Hop Awards already... :P

If you think Cage hates it from this article, you misread him. He didn't say anywhere that he didn't like the system, or that it's bad by any means. He's just saying it isn't in the same league with something like the PS3, which it isn't.

So every time I say that the PS3 is jsut a toy and not some beastly machinelike the PC, I'm also correct?

He may have chosen his words poorly, but his point is spot on. The Wii and PS3 are in different leagues when speaking on entertainment. They do many different things and appeal to two totally different types of consumer.

Really not anything many others haven't said before.

They call the Wii major league and the PS3 minor league. So yes, I agree.

Tease.

There's always the multiple million sellers to rub in their face.

I wonder why alfredofroylan put screenshot from Bergman's The Seventh Seal in OP? Is this because of David Cage, whose games-that-want-to-be-a-movie suck ass as the games and as well absolutely horrendous compared to anything Bergman has filmed? Oh, I get the irony =)

Being on topic is boring, since there're really not much to say. It's the same mantra I hear for the last 20 years, way before Wii has been released.

I'm really  not sure what to say

All video game consoles are toys. It is quite simple. And yes, that includes the PS3 and the X360.

So he states the truth.

well actually he implies that the PS3/360 are not toys but serious "multimedia centres" and have "strong" videogame experiences, which implies he thinks that the Wii has weak videogame experiences in comparison so...

@TheVoxelman on twitter

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

"ou à un jeu de société très sympa avec la Wii,"

I would not translate this phrase as funny board game. "Jeu de société" is more like a social game in general (board game is just one form of social game). I wouldn't translate très sympa with "funny" either. I would say "likeable"...

(I am a German native Speaker and have learnt French for some years...)

In my opinion this phrase was just not well translated and that was clearly in mind to downgrade the Wii. But frankly speaking, I can't see a game like Heavy Rain or FF 13 on the Wii, so there is a measurable difference between the performance of the Wii and the PS3. If that difference transfers into more fun with the games depends on each individual....

If he is trying to humlate his rival , then he is wrong , WII & PS3 is a place where U play games (games people play U take it or U leave it) . there is a differance no one can deny if U lkie to play these games U will buy a WII , if U like to play those games U will buy a PS3 (I have both because I like to play both) .

Anyway I didn't like heavy rain , I felt it was a movie not a video game that's why he shouldn't be surprised if people like to play Zelda more than heavy rain

This means the PS2 and PSP are toys then as well because the Wii can do everything they can do (yes the Wii can play DVD's). This guy obviously knows nothing about the Wii and is probably trying to get a few cheap digs in to sway gamers away from the Wii.

I on the other hand have never seen consoles as toys.

Your logic fails my friend. The psp is portable. And the ps2 is 10 years old.

You can get a screen and a battery pack for the Wii to make it portable and the PS2 is still in production.

is every consumer really going to do that? Is that really what nintendo is trying to sell on? No. They are trying to compete with the ps3/360 in the market...not the ps2 and the psp.

They are not only trying. They are winning.
