I prefer the remastered versions, to be honest. I'm not blinded by nostalgia to the point of thinking that improved special effects are a bad thing, though I have encountered people holding that opinion.

I don't mind the act of adding things when they're actual improvements, but there are some things that are pretty blasphemous:

  • Things like the ronto walking directly in front of the camera in Tattoine.
  • Han shoots first, not Greedo (and I have an issue with just how poorly it was done in general)
  • The Han talking to Jabba scene was cool, they just did a terrible job of making Han walk behind Jabba.
  • Placing the new Anakin (can't spell his name, don't care) at the end of Jedi instead of the original.
  • Replacing the Yoda puppet with the awful looking CGI
  • The new and improved Cantina scene, bleh

And I'm sure there are other just outrageous things I just don't care to try and remember.  Again, I was fine with them doing things like adding life to Mos Eisley or even updating the look of the lightsaber, but stuff like the above is just terrible.

Except that Samuel L. Jackson never does an awful job in any role. He's Samuel L. Jackson.


Samuel L Jackson is amazing in any scene where he plays an over the top character, not some incredibly reserved Jedi master.  That's just a waste of Samuel L. Jackson.

I won't tell you what the score is, and it won't be revealed until results day, but I can tell you that it isn't high. Come on guys, make sure it scores higher than The Phantom Menace! (though I'm not sure exactly what score that got).

I would have to give it a 40%. the effects where great and all and the battles where pretty epic but apart from that everything from plot to acting was a bit meh..

Yoda kicking butt at the end upped the rating to a 8/10 for me.

4/10 ~ Now this is the worst of all the 6 Star Wars films. The plot overall is pretty bad, and the acting and performaces by said actors is even worse. I really disliked this film, it failed to achieve anything in my opinion and the only reason I'd give it 4 out of 10 is the fact that it had steller production values.
