BOTH.

There's a difference though. A vanilla game is just a cop, doctor, townies, and mafia. More or less a newbie game

Well, I mean stuff like masons or vigilante is fine in a bigger game, but power roles should definitely be outnumbered by powerless townies.  In fact I'd say 1/4 power roles, 1/4 mafia, and 1/2 townies would be a nice mix.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

In a game of 20, that means 10 vanilla, 5 power roles (cop, doctor, 3 extra to your own flavor), 5 mafia (plain Mafia or maybe 1 Godfather 4 Goons).

Sounds like a good base. Then if you add a SK you have some room to adjust.

In mafia games that I play on other sites, there are clues when the mafia kills - the clues are based on the killer's avatar and signature. They're generally quite hard to work out, and it'll put a bit more thinking into mafia. Would it be worth trying to implement that for a game to see how it goes?

I prefer the clues to be how the killed player interacted with player x or y. Who had an advantage in killing him? Was the person killed's reasoning threathening someone in particular? etc...

VGC is brutalizing me.

"Do you have any last words?" the town spokesman asked noname2200 as he was about to be lynched.

"Yeah, I do:  What the hell?  This is worse than at D-Point!"  With that, Sailor Jupiter was dead.

I can, but I'd rather join the majority.

This looks like a good place to ask.

I'm looking to start work on a website, that I'll be doing mainly for my own enjoyment. But I still want it to have some enticing features/content. And I was thinking about creating a website where forum games (and Mafia/Werewolf in particular) are integrated into the experience, so it's no longer a forum with gaming in it, but a forum where games are integrated into the experience.

Here's what I have so far:

You can use it for Mafia in two ways.

1) Everyone playing are members on the site, and every game will be manageable through the site. When a mod starts a game, they can decide what rules to use, what roles to use, etc. All the regulations that follow with these things will then be enforced by the site. For example, when it's night, all posting is turned off for everyone and the Mafia have a private thread that only they and the mod can see. People with special powers would be able to do their thing and so on, and non of them have to report back to the mod, because the website records all these things, and shows them to the mod.

2) Not everyone playing are members on the site, so the game can't take place on it, but the site can still be used by the mod to keep track of things. So instead of spreadsheets or whatever tools you use to keep track of things, you use the website instead, making it easier to see what's going on and control what's happening, although it still requires more manual labor than #1.

Basically, what I want to know is this: is there any point in me doing this? Do any of you guys want this?

And if yes, got any suggestions on what should be implemented? I'd love to hear what you'd want from it, and how to make it better.

Finally, there is no timeline here. I have no idea when, if ever, this site will be 100% done or in a usable state. I want to do it, but it's going to be a pet project of mine, and I need to dedicate time to my education and social life as well.
