I asked around and that afirmation means that the game will take 1 month to be in the hands of the retailers, so december 7th is a good guess.

Give it a month tops for the release although if they can make the shipping date, Black Friday seems like an obvious day for release.
On the upside, no one will be subjected to any more ridiculous "GT5 delayed indefinitely" hate threads and focus can now be redirected to just how many copies GT5 won't sell and how irrelevant the series has become because of all the delays.
I'm genuinely curious to see just how much clout the franchise still commands and won't be surprised if it ends up being the best selling GT game given all the time and work that went into making it the definitive driving sim of the generation.

1 month for Sony, and for their EU flagship title, its going to be an exciting launch and a very interesting few weeks on vgchartz. about your last comment, i dont think GT5 could do it tbh. dont get me wrong i want to be the best game it can be and the best selling of the series, but thats about 15m copies, which imo is not something the PS userbase comands anymore.
however because of these reports on PS3s undertracked in the last week, its possible that software has been undertracked also and GT5 could be more successful than we initially think!

Indeed!!
And there was the marmot that packed the chocolate in alu-foil!
So Sony needs also time to retrain marmots to pack discs in disc cases and shrink wrap them.
