Forums - Nintendo - Why are Wii's Golden Eye reviews taking so long?

I smell bad news out of all this silence.

I hope I'm wrong.

Activision embargo?

Pixel Art can be fun.

Activision probably placed embargo terms on whoever they gave copies to. Note that you don't see any reviews for any of Activision's games coming out in the next seven days, not just Goldeneye.

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, Professor Layton and the Curious Village

Anticipating: Xenoblade, The Last Story, Mario Kart 7, Rayman Origins, Zelda SS, Crush3D, Tales of the Abyss 3DS, MGS:Snake Eater 3DS, RE:Revelations, Time Travellers, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, Luigi's Mansion 2, MH TriG, DQ Monsters, Heroes of Ruin

Blood Stone doesn't have any reviews yet either

It's an embargo issue.

The publishers make agreements with the websites and the magazines, so they can't publish their reviews of their evaluation copies before the day of the game release. In exchange the sites received their evaluation copies 1 or 2 weeks before everyone else, so they can play the game, beat it, try the multiplayer components, etc. And have the review ready on time for the release of the game.

Some publishers also ask for early opinions of the game to the sites and magazines, to know before hand the average grade the game will get, if they consider that it can benefit the sales of the game they give green light to publish the score a few days earlier.

So will I. But much more, I'll be broken-hearted.

its a classic, what do you expect.

i know a lot of classics which i say "omg that was the best game ever"

then i play it, compare it to what i could be playing instead and *facepalm*

remakes shouldnt exist, they end up getting the same score as their older version but the truth is that they dont deserve it in the modern time their released in.

e.g. god of war collection doesnt deserve the same score as the originals got back in their days and yet its a 91 on metacritic.
