Most of these articles are based on hype, rumours and scams the befell the media daily. If a survey is conducted in forums, you wouldn't get as much as the hype has transcended. Consumers would take a different approach after a week.

The X360 is the hub for hardcore FPS and has nothing to do with casuals. Leave this gimmick for nintendo.

The best way to compare Kinect and Move are software-sales for Kinect-only and Move-only titles. The shipment / hardware numbers surely are a nightmare to track.

Let's see how well Dance Central, Kinect Sports, Sorcery, The shoot etc are doing.

It amazes me that the best selling console on Amazon (I know - baby seals!) is the Xbox360 250GB Kinect bundle which is not released yet. It outsells the Xbox 360, the red Wii bundled with NSMB Wii and Wii Sports and Wii Motion Plus and the PS3 for weeks now.

The 4GB Kinect bundle outsells the regular Xbox 360 and the PS3 as well.

As a gamer: I REALLY want to play Horror games with Kinect. That must be amazing. Looking forward to Haunt from Sega. Condemned for Kinect PLEASE!

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Those are just what they've been doing to promote the Kinect in America....I don't know what they are doing worldwide because I don't live anywhere else in the world. x.o Seems the consensus that Microsoft are more popular in the U.S.

Microsoft upped their sales forecast for Kinect this holiday from 3 million to 5 million units today:

Microsoft president of Interactive Entertainment Business Don Mattrick said his company now expects the Xbox 360 Kinect sensor to sell 5 million units during the holiday, up from previous forecasts of 3 million, according to Bloomberg.

Mattrick said Kinect will be the biggest Xbox launch ever in terms of unit sales. A Microsoft representative confirmed the forecast hike in an email to Gamasutra.

Although its normal to hype, based on what people are saying outside of these forums it seems to be true. I assumed we would see the higher end of the estimated sales at around 3.5m so I dont think its out of the question to see 5m if they can actually produce and ship them all by Christmas.
