Xbox Kinect To Crush PlayStation Move?
IDC estimates Microsoft's hands-free control system could top Sony's rival offering in units sold by as much as 50%.

Article goes on to say Q4 Kinect projections are 2.5-3 million and Q4 Move projections are 2-2.25 million. They use the term "Playstation Move systems" which could mean camera + at least 1 Move controller, but it doesn't say precisely what they mean by "system". I hope that for (approximately) apples with apples comparison they do mean camera + at least one Move controller.
I guess either my expectations of Move were too low, or my expectations for Kinect are too high (which wil be the fault of the Kinect hype brigade here) but I think if Move does over 2 million systems and Kinect does about 3 million then that's a pretty good result for both, and given Move's existing user base from Q3 it will mean household install base come the new year will be fairly even.
A roughly even install base between Kinect and Move at the beginning of 2011 wasn't the expectation of most people, including me.
Still, there's always the chance that, despite what the article says, Kinect could become this holiday's Tickle Me Elmo and end up truly crushing Move by 2:1; a bit like what Android phones are doing to iPhone at the moment (yaaaay!).
