starting to get to that point where it's time to think about GotY awards.  I'm curious to see the winner between ME2, Reach, GoW3 and SMG2.  My bet is on SMG2 but it could easily swing ME2's way. 

kind of a weird month range for this award in particular: May to May makes it kind of the Goty awards for half of 2009 and half of 2010.

Congrats to ME2. I haven't played it yet but from what I've seen of friends playing and the glowing reviews it got it certainly seems deserving of the award. I can hardly wait to pick it up in January (this is not a subtle dig. I really am looking forward to it).

You seem to forget a couple of stand out, huge, loved games.

Red Dead Redemption
StarCraft 2

I would personally put Red Dead as my Game of the Year so far . And if GT5 releases, you can be sure it will be high up on a lot of peoples lists.

Anyway. Gratz to ME2, excellent game. Although these awards always annoy me as it isn't really Game of the Year...

Uncharted 2 and Heavy Rain won nothing? :/

And Soundtrack of the year: Final Fantasy XIII...

I loved the game but the soundtrack wasn't all that great. I would give it to Heavy Rain myself.

ME2 is an excellent game from what I've heard !

But I remember UC2 being eligible for the Golden Joystick awards..its weird to see it not win anything....its based on the UK though...so its no surprise that 360 would dominate

God of War III had an absolutely epic soundtrack too ! I loved the Heavy Rain theme from the trailers though...

i agree, i signed up and voted for heavy rain like a week ago

even worse than last year's results:

the lack of amazing games such as Spirit Tracks, NSMBWii and Uncharted 2 reduce my hope for my countries view on gaming even more

ME2. Way to go. Well deserved all the way. I hope the game continues to get accolades. Best game this gen IMO.
