Is he hot?
This could actually be really useful for people with special needs or old people who need someone to take care of them.

LOL. Well... it COULD be... after all, impossible is nothing (?)
Try to see what happens if you place a magnet near him. And also, see if dogs bark at him when they see him... if they do, like in Terminator, then he is obviously a robot (?) :P

That sounds interesting... but that AI sounds kinda aggressive, attacking others and all :P If you can find that program then I'll probably watch it... but if not... then it's fine :P Anyways, people usually say that the technology shown to us is actually 10 years old... so, if those rumours are true, maybe robots are a lot more advanced than what they show us... It would be cool if an advanced robot escaped the lab they're hidden in and showed up in society :P I should stop imagining stuff, lol xD |
I don't think we are screwed really.
If robots are able to innovate and mass produce themselves the eventually direction of this planet might be the extinction of the human race and basically robots ruling the planet in their own way.
Co-existence is always an option, but I do wonder about the job market for a human in such a world.
Then there's talk about transplanting human brains into a mechanical body....basically kind of an immortality state....maybe becoming cyborgs is the future for humans.
I should stop watching sci fi movies! {runs away}

Plus, they won't get pregnant and won't ask stupid question. You can also have multiple at the same time with no worries. |
And as a bonus she will make you a sandwich.

If we can transplant our brains into mechanical bodies, we will live much longer than normal... but if we want to live forever, we will also have to find a way to keep our brains from deteriorating over time :P... if genetics solves that, then we will be immortal.
If I'm ever a cyborg... I want to be called... Gray Fox O_O (or Frank Jaegger, Null, Cyborg Ninja... but NOT deepthroat, LOL)... nah, I'm just kidding :P

He's onto us that's preposterous and you need psychiatric help.
it only took legos 70ish years for them to start building themselves!!
soon machines will be building machines!! they'll start outnumbering us and we'll never know it!! the end is near!!
I don't think we'd be screwed, but we will be forced to adapt.
What will probably happen is we'd take control of our own evolution and improve ourselves. Bigger more efficient brains, Longer lifespans, Stonger and faster, Better reaction times, More resistent to infections etc.
Probably possible if we can make sentient robots. Furthermore thats not taking into account any cibernetic advances aswell.
We'll change, a future with sentient robots isn't neccesarily one that means our inevitable irrelivance. Humans are very adaptable and with furhter advances into technology we'll probably be able to readily influence this adaptability and use it to our advantage.
EDIT furthermore, if a robot has a big enough synthetic brain to be considered sentient then surely it would probably be prone to daydreaming, boredom etc. They will be able to do many things more efficiently then us (in our current state) but that certainly doesn't mean that there isn't a cost involve with becoming self-aware. A machine that is sentient probably wouldn't want to work 24 hours a day like a mindless machine does. They will probably demand holiday pay etc aswell.
