Everybody on here is talking about PS3 sales(Which is fine) so I will mix things up...

Wii will return and dominate Holiday 2010! PS3 sales are nice and all but was I the only 1 who saw the 50K jump for the Wii this week?

I don't think the Wii will dominate the holiday. If anything, the 360 will. It has the upcoming momentum and marketing to really push the masses, of course which includes Kinect. I think the Wii will have a good holiday, but it will be down from previous years.

Pretty much, I might guess 360 winning by a good margin, than Wii, than Ps3 just behind the Wii.  I think.

Please describe to me how the 360 is going to dominate.

Kinect my friend.

Kinect is going to sell amazing, I agree, but so did Halo Reach, so will  COD,  but I need to know how this Domination will happen.

Well we are all seeing how much of an effect MOVE seems to have had on PS3 sales in Europe

You can't help but think if Kinect has a similar effect on Xbox 360 sales then......it will dominate most probably.

But, GT5 will be relase in europe, again I ask this question, how will the 360 Dominate?

It will be this way to me.

NA :  360 by a good margin, then Wii and PS3

Others:  Wii, PS3, 360

Japan: Wii, PS3, 360

I have the Wii fisrt then PS3 followed by 360 for the holidays.

I expect US, UK to be a huge sale force for 360, but the advantage stops there.

And having GT5 in December will really hurt Kinect in Europe.

I don't remember having called Move a ''failure'' but that's ok if you want to put this word in my mouth. Anyway if you think 750k unit sold after a whole month a a half of sales is a success than you too should try to look at the big picture. Anyway that's another story...

True, not a failure. Flop was the word you used, despite you not knowing any of Sony's expectations.

I apologize.

I can agree with what carl said, those very words were used on a news article by atma.

Doesnt change the numbers either, sorry. But if you absolutely want to talk about Move, please feel free to start another thread on that topic.

the 750k is what they they the userbase with move is.  The controllers sold is more like 1.25 million.

I think Kinect will be huge, without a doubt, but I wouldn't say that it will definitely dominate, at least not outside of US and UK. Basically both the Wii and the PS3 will have an advantage in Japan, the PS3 will have another one in EMEAA because of those areas where 360 isn't even available. GT5, red Wii and Donkey Kong are some further factors. IMO it has never been more unclear what console will be first in the holiday season.

November and December will surely be interesting.

The Wii will outsell the 360 this Holiday in America, Others, and japan.

Japan is a no brainer. EMEAA is likely but I'd give 360 a small outside chance of beating Wii, like 95/5. America 360 has a decent chance at winning, I'd say 40/60. And seriously, if you really think it's an automatic guarantee that the 360's advantage in America will negate PS3's advantage in EMEAA and Japan you need to look at weekly Americas sales again. After adjustments it's started to become very clear that Canada and Latin America are not helping 360 out at all. PS3 has even been beating 360 off and on in the region for the first half of the year. Not to mention the fact that even prior to the Move launch PS3 has been very close to 360 WW. It even edged out a victory on Madden week (by a measly 300 units but whatever). It's not just Move that's given PS3 it's current advantage, 360 is simply dying in continental Europe and Kinect isn't going to change that.

I was going too, but it seems like 50 people came to my aid lol.   Basically Kinect.  Just going on what Move did, and MS's in your face advertising, it seems normal for it to do better.  Especially in America, an important territory to MS success.  We'll see, if Sony can stay close I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Move is a major success but there are other factors at play in that success. I've been saying for months now that the Move launch in EMEAA would have a dramatic impact on sales, and obviously it has, because for all intents and purposes it amounts to a €60 price cut to the high end PS3 models. While that certainly isn't the sole reason for its success it's certainly had a role in it.

I agree with you, but I feel like there could be similar success for MS in America.  I guess we'll see, I'd just rather assume slightly worse scenarios, so I'll be happy if proven wrong.  :)

since I can't make a thread I thought it would be appropiate here.

So if the 360 has sold 44 million, then why did I see Major Nelson saying 42 million?

I'm confused is that wrong or what?

Only contains the countries with XBL. Some countries MS sells to don't have XBL-support.
