I was worried that Inafune san would screw up a possible Onimusha 5 but now we might get a Onimusha game soon that is not overly westernized. |
That would also be very nice. Though the thing is there's a perfectly acceptable time period in Japanese where Westerners could show up.

DMC3 is the best game in the series. Really.
Capcom's still got Tsujimoto (Monster Hunter), Kobayashi (DMC, RE4, Sengoku Basara), Takeuchi (Onimusha, Lost Planet, RE5), Ono (Street Fighter), Niitsuma (Capcom Vs), Takumi (Ace Attorney, Ghost Trick) and Eshiro (Okamiden). They're down for sure, but not out entirely.

What I meant is that Onimusha should remain a very Japanese Samurai Horror Anime Style Game. and not turn into a generic western style Action Horror like CAPCOM did with RE5.
also Onimusha 1-3 were st in the Sengoku Period between 1560-1588 and Onimusha 4 is set in 1997 15 years after the death of Nobunaga Oda and just before the EDO period started. Westerners first turned up in Japan in 1555 western guns and tech is fitured in Onimusha 2, 3 and 4 inffact in Onimusha 4 there is a lot os western stuff and of the 5 characters you play as is a Spanish.

You have a point, but that point only supports passable games outside of Monster Hunter. Capcom was always a niche company outside of fighters and now thats technically all they've got. :)

I dunno, The AA games are extremely well renowned and both Ghost Trick and Okamiden have been getting rave reviews. I'd say they're up there with MoHun and the fighters. Basara's growing pretty rapidly too, even if it's getting terrible reviews from the anti-Musou western press. They'll come around eventually though, like they did for Monster Hunter...
Though I'd have probably been better off leaving Takeuchi off the list. :P

Capcom is now solely a fighting game company. People are going to get sick of them. |
Well, for what it's worth, they are the best fighting game developers in the industry.

I'll take Blaz Blue and Tekken over SF anyday. MVC is the only game I want from them. You're right about their popularity with fighters. I completely agree on that. They've burned me out on SF though.

Wasn't Mikami the director for RE4?

Yes. Kobayashi was the producer.
