Certainly a more measured and mature response about a competitor than what's been seen from the Big 3 industry reps in the past. BUT, Greenberg is still selling Sony and Move short as a way to promote his product (nothing wrong with that, it's part of how you market your product). He's suggesting Sony's primary strategy is to tack Move on to existing products as an optional control device. When we all know there are plenty of Move required games out now, and there will be more to come. So there are games being designed exclusively arounf Move.

What is half true about Greenberg's statment on Move is that an important part of the Move strategy is to get people to use Move for titles that are Move optional (like Heavy Rain, MAG, SOCOM 4 etc). And it's working, people are enjoying playing the likes of Heavy Rain with Move. This is certainly a significant difference between the Move and Kinect strategy. But it's wrong to say Sony is purely targetting existing owners. "significantly", "primarily", "substantially", yes  I would totally agree with those sentiment. "Purely", no that's hyperbole.

My thoughts exactly.

i'll third that! wait is that possible?

It very much is possible.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Fair enough words. I disagree that Move only is for existing owners, but do feel that Kinect will be more of a system pusher. Then again, after what I've seen today, anything can happen.

To bad we wont have any idea how many units it is actually pushing.  Nice that it is right during the start of the holiday push isnt it?

Logically, I would take the total sold during the holiday season this year and compare it to years past.  In a closed system, that total - years past totals (on average) = Kinects push.  To bad this method is completely subjective and completely wrong.  No way to tell.

then as posted before, i'll third that with conviction!

The move commercials over here don't really look like they are made for the existing PS3 owners...

There are, so far as I can tell, no Move ads or any advertising really aimed at existing users or titles.  There is no doubt Sony is making sure some existing owners have a reason to use it, but all the messaging is both for the new, Move specific titles, and the style and tone of the ads don't look to me like they are trying to convince someone playing MW2 all day to give Move a go.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Sony doesn't really need to advertise to us a whole lot, we know everything before they announce it half the time lol.  The effort has to be made to reach them, not us.  That's the beauty of this strategy.  Give stuff to us and casuals!  Amazing what a little balance can do for a console!

Greenberg's clearly been speaking to his PR man, because for once he doesn't sound like a dickhead.

Or maybe he'll come out with a statement tomorrow saying "LOL JK Move sucks and has no games and is for casuals and Communists"

I really wish this guy would shut the fuck up. He's talked so much trash this gen, but this is the stupidest thing he's said yet.

Haven't they all? Praising a competitors product, while pointing out the differences and marketing your own is a lot better than the crap that has been spewing from the likes of Inafune.

Come on. It's so obvious what he's doing. He really wanted to say, "Move has no games, it's derivative, and at least the Wiimote doesn't require a camera. It's even more expensive than Kinect. (Where YOU are the controller!) Did I mention it has NO GAMES?"But he likes to be subtle about needling good-hearted, loyal, honest, and true PlayStation fans like myself.

Sad performance, Greenberg. Just shameful. Kill yourself, please.

He is right on the expense part. Move at $99.99 for the starter kit and $49.99 for each Move controller adds up to $250 for 4 players; Kinect is $150 standalone.

As for your other points, you have 'em and I will not argue them.

Yeah, but if you add in the price of a bigger house so you have enough room to play Kinect, Sony definitely wins.  ;)  lol just kidding

Yeah, knocking down those walls and making the sons sleep in the garage can be mighty expensive. This is why you build a tree house.
