That was incredible.

Do you also hope that the movie and television industry will fail because they sometimes make entertainment that doesn't fall within your tastes? |
I've got no problem with Kinect, it's more the way they try to ''hype'' and brainwash people into buying by forcing it into every popular thing or show they can find(and spend a ridiculous amount of money doing it no doubt). I really don't like it when a gaming brand(xbox) is being sold like somekind of cheap tell-sell product. Instead of throwing away money at this type of marketing they could have sold Kinect for $99 and doing the early adaptor and loyal gamer a favor who's support made Xbox what it is today, and didn't let it die a quick death back when it started.
But by looking at the marketing it's pretty obious we won't get many ''core'' games for Kinect anyway, wich is a shame.

Agree. Anyway, marketing is alas necessary, but they could anyway save some money preferring quality to quantity: I liked Ellen's demo, but Oprah was worse than awful, never seen an ad more uninspired, except those for local small enterprises on very small and almost amateurish local TVs.

"Ellen recently surprised everyone in her audience with a huge gift -- a PlayStation 3! It includes a built-in Blu-ray player, WiFi, and tons of storage for music and pictures. Since they're so cool, she's decided to give 20 exclusively to our website visitors!

Meh. Better than Oprah, but it wasn't difficult. The two dorks that kept their hats on indoors were probably the least cool moment (and the saddest thing is that they most probably were supposed to be cool, instead). Ellen's demo is still the best up until now.

I work in the advertising industry and have since 2005...its far from doing badly, quite the opposite. Also this isn't regular advertising. Ellen gets plenty of sponsors and she don't have to do anything but wear a watch or a dress...but for her to dance like this, Bill gates must have told her "if you do this, when you get home, there will be a new house on top of your current house: |
Perhaps it depends on the form of media or programming in question.
A show like Ellen is probably doing great. People love that guy.

lol...they sure do.
Otherwise print and generic TV advertising is going down, and fast...other TV stuff like Ellen and Oprah sponsorship, as well as online advertiring is trending up. Google made 3 billion dollars last quarter mostly on online search advertising.
Now this will boost sales

This game maybe fun (btw I don't see why it would be funnier than just dance for example).
But I didn't formulate correctly my sentence : "You better show it's fun even if you don't think the same/it is not your cup of tea" is a better formula of what I meant.
Who can pretend if she was really having a blast or pretend to have...?
Nevertheless If this game is a winner, it'll be soon multiplat. It is not an absolute Xbox Exclusive and Harmonix devs said that it can be done with PSEye.
