Forums - Gaming - Blockbuster by mail is unbelievably lame.

When you log in they have all the latest games at your disposal. However... look how long I have to wait before I can rent them.

Fable III - Available: 02/04/2011
Fallout New Vegas - Available: 02/01/2011
Medal of Honor - Available: 01/25/2011

See the trend here? LAME!!!!! I'm shocked they can get away with promoting newer games to get people to sign up yet they won't offer them for months.

Regardless, I'm going to stick with it for atleast a month or two. Its only $14 for 2 games at once. Still plenty of older games I want to play like Red Dead, Metro 2033, Bioshock 2, etc.

Wow, that is lame.  $14 for 2 games though is decent, especially since this year we have been carpet bombed with games - not so much in the summer, but first 4 months of this year and now again.. barely had time to beat Reach before FFXIV came out, now FFXIV is shelved because I'm playing Fable 3 and I also picked up TFU2 yesterday as well.. and in a few weeks new CoD and AC:Brotherhood..

MS and Sony are beating my wallet like a red headed stepchild.

PS. Nice Avatar

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

Well it's blockbuster

I assume you got it instead of gamefly because it's cheaper I think my brother pays (23$ a month)?

blockbuster is bankrupt, they wont be around much longer.

Bankrupt doesn't mean the company will disappear. They are going to same direction as Netflix and Redbox.

how can they come in now and compete against Redbox, netflix, PSN, xblm and more ISP and electronic companies all offering digital distribution of movies. they came too late and technology got the better of them, so they must find a way to do a Kodak or they will disappear

Yeah. I've used Gamefly in the past as well. The problem with Gamefly though is there is no guarantee you'll get newer games soon.

I thought I'd give Blockbuster a try to see how it compares. But I wasn't expecting a 3 month delay.

You don't need to be number one to make money.

Also, is alternatives in the market such a bad thing? It forces Redbox and Netflix to be more competitive.

They addressed this earlier on some Q&A. I know they are working on getting the mail in games to be rentable quicker. You can still get those games in store.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

well blockbuster has lost majority of there consumers to these other companies and i dont think they are just going to come back. also i named like a heap more. I live in Aus and we dont have redbox or netflix but we have PSN, XBLM, bigpond movies, tivo, LG one and much much more.

There is just too many companies in an over saturated market and majority of them do other things and have movie rentals as a supplement.

Blockbuster is finished unless they do a Kodak
