Sony Corp.’s Playstation Move controller for the Playstation 3 held an sold out status at Wal-Mart Stores Inc.’s online division this week due to high demand of the peripheral.

This week, the Playstation Move product page at Walmart.com disclaimed an out of stock status.

Additionally, this week the Playstation Move product page at GameStop.com disclaimed a ‘Backordered’ status.

Finally, this week the Playstation Move product page at Amazon.com disclaimed a ship time of two to four weeks.

And Kinect is sold out everywhere.  It's pretty amazing isn't it?  The peripheral hasn't even come out yet and it's sold out.  Wonder if that says anything...

Yeah it says a lot.  It says that the public hasn't yet understood how much of a fail boat Kinect really is going to be.  It says that after the  $500 million dollar marketing campaign coerces enough people to buy it and the system still doesn't have a 'good' use or quality software there will be plenty of Kinects sitting on shelves across the world.

That made me lol.

Move is differently selling to the core PS3 user base than Sony Expected.

Sony was hoping a lot of Wii owners would jump ship, but it seemed that the already PS3 owners have jumped on the Move train. thats why there are no moves alone and bundles.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Whenever I go out I only notice the Move controller being sold out, that's it. They always have tons of Sport's Champions bundle, EyePet Bundle, Navigation controllers and 320GB bundle.

I think that while it attracts some new customers, the Move is selling best right now to the current PS3 install base.

Then it's doing its job.  Stop PS3 owners from being Kinect-curious.  And that's not an insult, so don't scream fanboy at me.  Move's ad campaign, quotes from execs, regular game support all seems to be aimed at stopping PS3 owners from seriously considering Kinect and I have at least one friend that it worked on.  Of course he's starting to break down now too, but he bought Move so Sony got theirs.

Overall, though, could it be that overall interest in both of these motion controllers was vastly underrated by ALL of us???

And you can still get a Move controller at the store.  The post just shows how much online demand has increased and how markets will soon adjust.  You can also still get the $100 online, which shows that the demand for the Move isn't for a new emergin market for Sony, but that those who already have a Eye Toy are buying the Move.

This is are sad thate popel have to talk rbout kinect in Move thread. Sorny fanes would neever to do this thing in a kinect threadzzzz.

The OP comes from a poster who consistently believes that the PS3 will be great one day, meaning it will be above the 360.  I'm just making sure he doesn't forget his place and realize that's a fatasy world he lives in.

It means MS is spending 500mil on a marketing campaign while sony is getting a simillar good result for fraction of the cost.

They aren't getting a good result.  Just because they are shipping well now, doesn't mean it will continue.  Sales have continously gone down every week for the Move, despite the Christmas frenzy that has already begun.  I can gaurentee you that MS understood that 500 mill was spent so that people are actually going to buy the 360 system, which is $300 bucks.  300 x 2,000,000 (MS's lowest aproximation)= 600,000,000 dollars in the first quarter.  put that up to the highest estimation:  300 x 4,000,000 = 1,200,000,000, in the first quarter.  Not very many people are actually going to buy the 150 kinect, cause it's too expensive.  Everyone here has stated that.  MS has done this so that their cream of the crop is going to be the casual gamer this fall.  And just like how pachter predicted this coming spring, the 360 will see a price drop, along with a Kinect price drop.  Both of these price drops will sky rocket sales.

People enjoy the Kinect (including myself) enough to just play with this interface.  Watching a movie is actually fun.  It's amazing.  LIterally.  There is nothing in this room except you, your t.v, and your xbox 360 kinect bundle.  And your watching t.v.  No remotes, no controllers, just awesomeness.

The interface alone drives people crazy (MS has actually done studies on just the interface alone, and they  have yielded these results).

We are the 28th of october... At least dont use the words "frenzy" and "already begun".

On another note, Microsoft spent 500 million on marketing because they had too. Spending so much on marketing is not something to brag about. Other companies can spend much less on their product and be successful or as successful.

Your the one living in a fantasy world if you really think Euphoria cares much about that. Between, PS3 is already great, no need to be higher than 360. Anyway, nowadays, all regions software is usually higher :P.
