Forums - Nintendo - Ready at Dawn: "The Wii Novelty is wearing off"

@pavolink  why would you not think you would hear it again??? especially if this is the case for some people, why is it so hard to accept that people can and do get tired of Wii and just dont play it that much??

Ready at Dawn is practically a Sony 2nd party developer, they're composed of some former members of Naughty Dog.  The only other games they have developed are the Sony titles God of War: Ghost of Sparta (PSP), God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP) and Daxter (PSP).

And Okami (Wii)

@Nintendo fans

why would you want this guy to tackle the Wii? , its not a punching bag you know!

They didn't develop Okami Wii. They only ported the PS2 version, that's all.

Its so hard to say "I'm tired of my Wii" or "Its boring" instead "my Wii is collecting dust"? If you dont play, at least return to the box.

The motion novelty has worn off, nintendo themselves barely use it anymore

I don't think you can really prove the motion novelty has worn off. You could easily argue motion gaming is bigger than ever.

NIntendo is using motion technology as much as they always did. I can't think of any Nintendo Wii games that doesen't take advantage of  the motion technology.

As usual you're spewing nonsense I say. Nonsense!

Well kinect and move will likely spur some interest in it before they too collapse from lack of interest. As for nintendo. mario, donkey kong, kirby all use it to a small extent. Only zelda is really utilizing it in any big way.

So the only proof for your argument required you to cherry pick three platformers. Those games actually require the Wiimote by the way. They also put out several games this year that use motion controls in a significant way. The console is even bundled with motion games.

In a nutshell, its stupid to say Nintendo is barely using motion technology.

Yeah, besides the stupid and overdone phrase of "collecting dust," it just bugs me that it's constantly repeated, it's just their subtle way of sticking it to the console and saying it sucks, trying to implant this image of the Wii as the console nobody wants to play, despite software sales showing otherwise. If you don't play it, just sell the damn thing and give it to someone who would appreciate it instead of going on about how much it "collects dust."

Oh well, anyway thanks Ready at Dawn for....uhm...trying? to make..eh.. good games on the wii?

The only thing they have done is a port of a PS2 game. They have never ever tried to make anything for the console so why are there complaining?

And the "wii collects dust" is just absurd. The only people that would play all day all week are nerds and geeks that have nothing better to do. The real world, which i she one that bought the wii, has jobs, families and obligations and the wii, like TV is a pass-time.

Besides I know many acquaintances that have Xbox'es and rarely play with them.

This absurd hardcore internet trolling towards the wii is getting boring and absurd. Why it hasn't died anyway? Like Testres anti-wii posts, they are not funny anymore.

@metallicube  while I agree that if you dont like whatever you should get rid of it, by why take it so personally??? its just games, some people think Wii sucks thats there opinion, you might think PS3 sucks and has "no games" but im not gonna fly off the handle, or "RROD" I havent seen alot xbox fans fly off the handle for that. You can bring up software sales all you want that doesnt account for everyone's taste and what they play and if you take into account there are more top selling HD games than their are Wii ones I think they might even themselves out.

Back to that old collecting dust myth?

It's funny because so many different people have said the *exact* same thing. It can't be a total myth...

You really need to sharpen your critical thinking skills. I suggest you start here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argumentum_ad_populum

Throwing out Wii Sports and Resort, the Wii still has twice as many titles in the top ten sellers list for 2010 as any other platform, and more overall software sales.

What magical mind-controlling pixie dust does Nintendo have that nobody else can sell software to these people? It must be magical mind-controlling pixie dust, because it sure as hell isn't the publishers' fault that nobody wants to buy their Wii games.

What kind of cognitive dissonance does it take for these guys to say that nobody can sell software on the Wii when the largest game publisher in the world is making a killing selling software on the Wii exclusively? Nintendo, serving just two platforms, sells 50% more games than EA (number two publisher) serving five platforms.

But that's not because EA is incompetent. No, it's because whenever people see a Nintendo logo, money starts falling out of their wallets. EA can't compete with Nintendo, because Nintendo has already employed every hypnotist on the planet, and there are no more hypnotists left for EA to hire to convince people to buy their games. Poor EA is stuck selling games to people who aren't enthralled by the Wii's blue hypnosis beam.

Sorry, I was feeling pretty surly a few minutes ago. A good rant is just what I needed. Carry on.
