Yes, could be interesting for Apple to do for the patent, R&D, certain electronic appliance and the factories.

Just one question, when everyone speak of Sony and it's market cap, does it also includes Sony Music and Sony pictures? Because having both could be really interesting also for Apple as they can get exclusive content for their devices (ipod, ipad and iTV).

But honestly i don't see that happen, too big, too much different culture and also too expensive for Apple to absorb.

Won't happen, Apple is simply not compatible with Sony in terms of how they work.

They're a much closer fit to Nintendo, however that also won't happen because so much of Nintendo's value is in their software teams - which have a habit of jumping ship after unpopular buyouts (see Rare to MS) leaving little more than intellectual property.

However it seems speculation is being taken somewhat seriously.

This is likely 100% bullshit. If anything, Apple will release their own console to compete on the videogame market (besides handheld gaming) and it will sell oodles due to all the mindless Apple drones out there. It won't even need to be a good console or have any good games, as long as there's a fruit with a piece taken out of it and a sleek plastic cover people will go crazy for them.

Anyway , It would be a misstep for Apple. More than half the shit Sony has , isn't useful for Apple.             And if they buy it , which I doubt , they won't change to much. Only inject a lot of money , and change they way they work behind the screens. It would be more interesting if Apple bought Adobe. Which I doubt because Adobe and Apple aren't biggest buddy's. But that could be a reason for Apple to buy them.

Sony doesn't have a ton of say in it.  If somebody wants to buy shares, they can go buy shares...it's a public company
