Won't happen, Apple is simply not compatible with Sony in terms of how they work.
They're a much closer fit to Nintendo, however that also won't happen because so much of Nintendo's value is in their software teams - which have a habit of jumping ship after unpopular buyouts (see Rare to MS) leaving little more than intellectual property.
However it seems speculation is being taken somewhat seriously.

I would laugh if it happened though, mostly because I think it would be a miss step from Apple - which they don't make too often.
