Netflix - This a great service, and it has a great app. Try the one month free trial.

Air Video - Don't need Netflix because you have a bunch of videos already on your computer? Stream them to your phone with Air Video. Converts just about anything into .h264 either ahead of time or on-the-fly, and streams it to your iDevice.

I missed those two, because I use them Exclusively on my iPad. Great apps.

Actually, I'd say Netflix's iPad app is the worst of any platform, and I've tried it on everything but a 360. It's like they just took their website and made it extra slow and clunky. None of that matters once your stream is going, of course.

And this is a worthy point to new iPhone users who might be interested in getting an iPad down the line. iPhone apps with a little plus sign in the price tag are universal, which means they work on both devices. It was pretty sweet to have ~25 native iPad apps the first day I had my iPad at no extra charge.

It's better then the Wii version (unless they have updated the Wii version in the last few months)

And yes, it's nice that some devs chose universal apps. I use IM for my MSN Messanger role on the iPhone, and that app had a vey good iPad implementation. It was nice that I didn't have to pay for it.

Man this is nuts...so many usefull apps and fun games.

I don't think I will be jailbreaking mine yet.

What are the advantages of doing so (other than downloading apps and games illiegally for free)?

Emulators, SBsettings, tethering (using your iPhone to get your laptop online) if  your carrier doesn't allow it.. that's bout it now..

used to be more usefull but iOS4 has covered a lot of thing you could get with Jailbreaking..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

So am I the only one who hates touch screen gaming, the only thing they are good for is gaming in my lectures in a more subtle and quiet way than a PSP....

I also don't really bother with that many apps so I can't really help you, my only use of iOS devices is the iPad and the only useful thing with that (other than just playing around with google maps, which is fun) is doing a Sudoku and I use it as a browser when my phone and laptop are in other rooms

Okay, new recommendation for a game that just launched. It's the best space trading game on the platform:

http://www.fishlabs.net/en/games/galaxy-on-fire-2/

Very polished, apart from the dodgy voice acting. Galaxy on Fire 1 is available for free right now if you want a taste, but I assure you that it pales in comparison to the sequel and number 2 is worth every penny. If you ever wanted to play Elite/Privateer/Freespace on your phone, you want to buy Galaxy on Fire 2.

Yes, jail-breaking is legal. Downloading Cydia is legal. Nobody is disputing that.

Installous may not be legal, since it's main function is to download unlicensed intellectual property, and plenty of web sites have been taken down for offering a similar service.

Using Installous to download unlicensed software most definitely is illegal. And it doesn't really speak well for your character that Rovio sells Angry Birds for a single dollar, and you still can't be arsed to pay for it.
