taking inspiration from d21lweis thread about Comic Books, I Love & manga so I thought I would stat a thread dedicated to theme. lest talk about all aspects of them.

I stated with Tetsuwan Atom (Astro Boy), Mazinger Z and Macross when I was 5 rears old and now love pretty much all Anime to veering degrees and I read a lot of Manga.   

To be honest, I can't really say I enjoy most major anime series. Bleach, Evangelion, Naruto, Hellsing, DBZ, ect. ect. never really did it for me.

Really the only anime series I like are Ghost in the Shell, Ergo Proxy, Lain, and maybe Technolyze (slow and plodding, but kept me watching till the end).

I try to give everything a fair chance, and I only pass judgement on a series when I have seen all of it, or at least a decent representative sampling of it.Maybe I just like the deeper/weirder plots that have more of a cyber punk flavor.

Despite only actually enjoying a few animes, I regularly watch new series in the hope of finding something decent. Right now I am going through Witchblade (awful so far), Claymore, and Darker than black.

I am always open to suggestions for new series, and if there are any anime experts on these forums that can suggest something similiar to the series I liked then I would appreciate a recommendation.

I quit watching after 1 episode if I don't like it... for the most part.

1. Planetes
2. Ghost In The Shell SAC, and GiTS Second Gig.
3. Haibane Renmei (Such a beautiful series. The guy that did the music for SoTC did music for this series)

Anime Movies.
1. Totoro
2. Ghost In the Shell 1 2 (Both were equally brilliant imo)
3. Perfect Blue (Not really like any other Anime I've Seen)

I've only read some planetes and ghost in the shell manga in english... and tried to read FMA with my limited japanese skills :P so not the biggest fan of that stuff.

People should read and watch BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad, I'd also recommend the English dub. That's all I have to say on the topic of manga and anime.

I use to be a pretty big anime fan, back in the boom, I don't really watch to much new anime these days, not a lot of anime gets aimed at adults these days. I do still keep up with anime features though, if not just because I'm a total cinefile.

You might also like other Satoshi Kon Amime like Millennium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers.

Just wondering who meany Macross Fans there are on the site. I love everything Macross I just finished watching the Macross Frontier Anime move the a PS3 Macross Game on the disc.

I have those. I like a lot more than I listed. And Satoshi Kon's is/was (:( :( :() amazing. I also have paprika, and Paranoia Agent the 13 episode series by him too.

I liked the Macross one saga, not even sure what exactly Macross Frontier is though. What is it. The same characters from macross I have seen in the short amounts I've watched in your video.

 I've watched both the whole Robotech Series (in english). And the Japanse version which was 3 separate series. The super Dimension Fortress Macross. Southern Cross, and MOSPEADA.  And enjoyed all of them in both languages.

It's the latest sires in the Macross universe daubed in 2008. I fogot Macross 7 to sorry

I am currently also watching Bubblegum Crisis OVA again.
