absolutly not
I feel weird saying this, but when it comes to gaming, I feel that at age 18, I am somewhat of a late bloomer with the whole industry in general. Yea, I had a Nintendo, then an N64, then a PS2, but I never really put THAT much time into any of these consoles, nor did I get super excited for any games. I did put a lottttttt of hours into Warcraft 3, but I still just wasn't really somebody who got all excited about gaming, and also moved towards League of Legends once that came out.
Several years ago, my dad went out and bought a psp that we could share, and while I played it a bunch right away, it wound up sitting in a room collecting dust for a majority of its time.
Last Summer, I finally went out and bought a PS3, and while I still haven't invested that terribly much into it (not to mention Starcraft 2 managed to suck me back towards computer gaming for another month and a half), I feel that my console gaming life is just starting. I don't want to be spending too much on gaming, and while I have, and have invested a lot of my time into MW2 (campaign 2 times through as well), I have also played and beat LBP, own Infamous (currently borrowing it to a relative, so unable to play it), and have God of War Collection being shipped to me.
I also purchased Final Fantasy IX as a PSN classic as I have seen over and over it is supposed to be one of the best in the series (I'm currently 6 hours into this). I have about 15 games that are on a list that I really want to play through, not to mention tons of others that I think would be neat to start playing.
On top of this all happening, I just started playing PSP again. I really don't know what led to this whole change in my gaming life (shift from light console gamer/moderate PC gamer to light PC gamer/moderate console gamer), but it is so amazing to get this excited about games! I truly do wish that I had a backwards compatible PS3 since I traded in my PS2 for the PS3, and am unable to play so many of the amazing games that came out for that (however there are Collections coming out). It is also great that I am able to buy PS1 Classics as I am able to enjoy the amazing games that came out that I've never been able to experience before.
So after this long rant, I really don't think this will be my last generation, and in all honestly, it is my "first" generation in a sense...(I finally started caring about gaming this generation). This isn't to say, however, that I will buy a PS4 and PSP2 immediately when they come out, as I really just don't have the money, not to mention I don't want to miss out on the amazing titles out, and coming out for PS3.
Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.
I will get the next Nintendo system for Zelda. From here on out, it's all about PC.
Nay, I'm likely gonna be an old man gaming.
Apparenlty middle aged men make up a good number of gamers. So I won't be a lone.

I don't know, but I share the same feeling of not having that passion anymore to play games.
Last game I played and fully enjoyed was perhaps Zelda Wind Waker.
I guess as people turn older they tend to appreciate other activities, and besides that, games get repetitive.
I might get hyped for a unique game that may be released in the future, but this gen somewhat failed to bring me freshness, apart of some DS games.
I will without a doubt buy a 3DS next year, so no. But, considering I will start uni in 2011, I might spend less time gaming

Thanks for making this thread,I've been thinking about making a thread like this for along time, but now I don't have to. After the 3DS,it's more than likely going to be my last gen of gaming. I've been gaming since I was 7,in 1987 and now I'm 30. I've had the nes,snes,ps1,ps2,dreamcast,ps3 at some point. There really going to have to do something ground-breaking next gen for me to be apart of it. I work 40hrs a wk and only have a couple days to play games for any extended period of time. I want to focus on other things before I die,I l've been living alone for nine yrs and I want to try and work to improve myself,so I can get a woman and family and all of that other stuff people want in life. Gaming will always have a special place in my heart, but I've been at this for 23yrs and really can't see myself getting into gaming next gen. Again thanks for making this thread,so I could share my thought on this, without having to make my own thread about it.
Maybe unless Kojima creates ZOE3

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.
Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
Well ill hopefully be making it into The Australian Navy Clearance Divers soon, and have been training hard for it.
