Well some actions take palce cuz it's the interwebz....can't really do anything about it...but that mod incident sounds awful. I can think of one mod who abuses his power but nothing to be done about it, it's the internet and some are just like that.about the flame bait incident, that's just pathetic whoever they are..truly sad sad behavior imo

I do have to say I have behaved few times in a way I'm not proud of either, but some take it to a whole new level

But it's the interwebz...nothing you can do about it

Anywho rainbird 1 respect from me, great post great thread :)

"Another time, a mod asked me to report another member for a fairly innocent post, so that member could be punished, simply because the mod was tired of him. Again, what the hell?"

WTF!!?? That's a shipload of madness, right there!

I think insecurity is part of it. Lots of people are insecure and being on the internet with opinions flying all over the place just makes things worse. Thus they need to prove why their dads are better than the rest.

You also have the people who likes to see things fail and feels the need to express those feelings. That often leads to lots of unnecessary "discussion".

In other words I had good intentions. I took my dog for a walk and in the end I had to carry her to the car. So much for the walking part right? Anyway the lesson I learnt is that when the going is good some dogs just don't want to get back into the car so you have to either drag them by their necks (cruel) or carry them. Now carrying them is more work than draging them along the ground and for the sadistic amongst you, it isn't as fun either. However by carrying my dog to the car I learnt an important lesson. I learnt that you get a lot more attention from the babes on the beach when you're ministering love and compassion to your four legged companions.

thats a very good analogy

I never threatend Rainbird with a DB Ban!.....and it wouldn't matter since no one cares if they're DB banned T_T.

lol?

Do you have a dog, Squill?

I'm with what Rainbird is saying.

That is why I created this thread not long ago, the Positive Thread: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=117602&page=1#

Seriously some people just needed to chill out for a moment.

I always try to stay out of arguments here and there in the forums because it's useless and the fact that I'm not gonna sway someone who has a completely opposite point of view or opinion to me just makes me avoid such arguments. It's like me trying to convince a die hard X360 fan that the PS3 is the best console with the best excluisves blah blah blah and to go out and buy and love the PS3 when that person doesn't like it the games on the PS3 and is happy with what the X360 offers. Why should I waste my time trying to convinve someone who'se got an opposite opinion to me? Let them be them and just move along.

I continue to post and try to fit in with the community here at VGC because there are lots of great and funny people and posters who love playing games like myself and enjoy talking about each others hyped games, etc share some of the latest news with everyone. It's just great and that's what compells me to post here at VGC.

Sometimes I just think that some people should just chill out and relax for a moment before trying to argue with someone when it can clearly be avoided.

And I've said this over and over again previously. Us as gamers shouldn't be arguing who's console is better or debate about which game has better graphics. We should be sharing our opinions with other people outside of gaming and make Gaming be treated equally as other Entertainments such as Movies, etc. Both you and I know that there are millions of people who still think Video Games are for nerds, etc. Both you and I know that that is bullshit. Bullshit like the California Law about Video Games should be the stuff we should be concerned about and argue against, not how much a company is spending to advertise a product.

I love VGC and the community and I too one day hope to become a great awesome poster like many of the long time members.

And yes I do insist that you go to the Positive Thread in the link above and post something positive :D!

Things can always be better, that's the story of life. But without a serious group effort, things won't change. I'm applauding your efforts Rain, and I hope what you're asking for can somehow come to pass. I just don't expect it.

If I can change the mind of one person, then I will have succeeded. That's all I want from my thread, and that's enough to create change. Not a lot of change, but change none the less, and that all I want.

@ Squilliam - I'm gonna need to have that analogy explained, because I don't really see how it fits.

@ d21lewis - Agreed, we have an amazing community, and that's why I love this place and want to help it improve.

@ M.U.G.E.N. - Well, I think you can do something about it. I'm not out to change the world, the internet or whatever, but if I have the power to sway one person into a happier experience, then I'm going to do it!

@ forest-spirit - Yeah, there's probably a lot of things like that, I imagine it's even easier to reach those sides of yourself if everyone else is shouting and being silly.

@ Cross-X - Exactly.

These are words to live by: "The only corner of the universe you can ever be sure to change, is your own."

If you want to change your online experience for the better, the recipe is as simple as can be. See below.

- You're about to make a post.

- Ask yourself how posting this post will make you feel.

- If it doesn't make you happy, don't post.

Simple as that.
