It'll outsell PS2 in some markets though, notably the USA.

I for one do think The Wii will get there, with 2-3 holiday seasons left and I predict another 2 price cuts, 25-30 millions sold throught out all that should be no problem, dont forget many of those first wiis are dying by now so there' ll be a lot of people buying their second wii soon.

Has there been any reports of wii breaking down now? I'm not sure I know anybody who's wii is breaking down from over usage, even those who play it constantly.

Mine is breaking down. Through a combination of years of being stepped on, and my drunken friends (who used gamecube cotrollers for Mario kart) managing to pull on their controllers and drop it off the table, the disc drive is starting to make some worrying noises. I won't be buying a 2nd one though, my parents have a Wii and so does one of my housemates. Wherever I am I can just use someone else's Wii.

Don't worry. I knocked mine over a lot of times and now it makes a grinding sound. It has been working like that for almost 2 years. The thing seems to be indistructable. I'm thinking about buying a second though because I homebrewed my machine (for no real reason) and they won't factory reset it even if I pay them so they won't fix Other M read error.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy
In the past we played games. In the future we watch games. - Forest-Spirit

Yeah, mine's been going on for nearly 2 years, to the point where I've stopped worrying too much. Though it is certainly getting louder over time. It's on its last legs, but im sure it'll last till the Wii2 comes out

lol if you think the wii won't make 100 million then your kidding yourself. i know you want the ps3 to be the dominant console its counter parts were but its not going to happen this generation. I see the wii around 120-150 million when its all said and done for the console.

yikes that wii has been through a lot, although nintendo's products seem to be very durable

Good my wii hasn't been knocked down at all and have been respected all the way through it's life so my Wii must be still in excellent condition.
